Who is doing it wrong?

I will give two circumstances and you guys tell me why the other guy is always wrong.

Ole backyard breeder takes his good female and finds some Stripper Semen to bred her to. He has a litter that he knows will impact the breed. People say how he is wrong and how he doesn't know what he is doing.

The guy that is saying how wrong the backyard breeder is. Buys a good blooded pup. He is proud of him and gets one of the 7 generation pedigrees. He starts looking at it and sees the Ole Stripper dog is in that pedigree 22 times.

Now he just put down a guy for breeding to him once and he done went and got a pup with Stripper in it 22 times. lol

Seriously folks this happens everyday in the walker breeding.
I just got one of the 7 Generation Pedigrees to refresh my memory on the dogs from years past. Thing is, every dog I every loved or hated is in my pups pedigree. Most of them several times. lol The good news is I have plenty to pick from if he does good and plenty to blame if he does bad. I have already earmarked Tar Rattler as one of the downfalls in the pedigree. LOL

Lipper is in my dogs more than rattler lol. Back in the day I hated lipper because I was the one trying to break those little puddin pops lol when rattler came along it was a breath of fresh air. The oddesey man bred rattler to Jane and got titled dogs that throw titled dogs. They have cracked out lipper seman several times big hype gonna change the world set it on fire gonna win all the money then ................. Nothing but crickets lol. Besides that I am a bone fan now anyways but bad as I hate to I might have to go get some of that rattler stuff some day kind of like somtimes you got to get stung by the bee to get the honey lol.

Tar I sure wasn't talking about you buddy but you just proved me point. Hate Lipper but love a dog BONE that has him in his pedigree so many times it takes a calculator to count them.

I hunted House bred Walkers for a while back in the day.

I hunted with one or two out of Lipper that were mind blowing good.

It was like they had an extra gear other dogs didn't have, and those mouths!

But I never got one that wasn't so trashy they wore me out.

I had one sure enough top notch sucker out of Lawyer, but he got mean, and took early retirement.

I have hunted Blues for the last 25 years, but I have a big boned long eared female out of Bone that I'm going to start this fall.

You wanna laugh a little harder you ready ? Grab your chair lol.................. My new female out of granny is out of a dog out of rat attack !! I think I need to go talk to DR Phil I am spiraling out of control but only way you can avoid it now is not have a dog lol. These pedigrees are saturated. I think the redbones even have lipper in them now.

I have raised a bunch of pups.

The pup I kept,a mate to the one Bruce got, is maybe the smartest and most sensible pup I have had around my house in years.

Smart as a whip and a million dollar disposition.

Steve the Dam is out of Sunrise. The Dam's Mom has the interesting side of the pedigree. She has a lot of the Finley River Blood.

I know jay tells me that all the time lol !! But I was hunting lipper dogs way before rattler dogs.

believe me rattler was the best thing ever happened to lipper lol.

Steve check out rob thompsons backwater banjo dog in the stud classifieds they going to be loud when you look at his pedigree you will see why he is a plus point dog that throws the same and robs a heck of a good guy.

Posted by bowling on 06-03-2017 01:39 PM:

I have hunted lipper bred dogs for years they are skuana River bark bred they are the best all around dogs I ever saw I will show mine to any one any night of the week they tree coon no matter the conditions bring any breed you got don't matter if it wasent for lipper we would have no walker breed, love him or hate him. My stud dog is 11 years old and still wouldn't trade him to any stud dog alive. We just don't hunt once a month we hunt hard 4 to 5 nights a week I know what it takes a lot more to it than just treeing a coon they got to have a little something between the ears. They never need a leash and can be called in regardless..

Posted by yadkintar on 06-03-2017 02:01 PM:

You get one strait out of lipper down here in thin coon country and a lot of junk to run they were a pain in the A** simple as that no garmin and not very good shocking collars and those suckers could take a woopin when he left Texas we was ready for him to go lol. Besides that they babbled too.

Posted by bowling on 06-03-2017 04:22 PM:

There were no babbling back then like they are today we wouldn't have hounds without him that simple

Posted by yadkintar on 06-03-2017 06:11 PM:

You don't know if the good ones out of him were really out of him or not the good ones might of been out of his littermate brouther that would bark 5 feet stop dig a hole and bark 5 feet and dig a hole yes I know the rest of the story.

5000 plus puppies might of had to have a little help just sayen lol.

Posted by Donnie Stevens on 06-03-2017 06:41 PM:

Tar that's no different then most studs from that era Rattler included. I've heard whispers in the wind from deep in the heart of Texas for 20 years about that Rattler semen.

I was there on that one most of the time he only had a 1000 pups what people don't know was it was a heck of a lot easier to collect rattler than to breed him it took two people. Besides that there is a shoe box full of pictures of him hung up to almost all the females he bred. The owners were almost always standing there win the breeding happened. But 5000 puppies one dog ?

Posted by Donnie Stevens on 06-03-2017 07:03 PM:

Ya I hear ya. I only had one off Rattler. Pretty nice dog Isent her back to tTexas when she was two I believe she won the American heritage hunt the next year. She's the grandmother of the dog Delton has in the cooner this month at stud.

That's an average of a little over 60 females a year over his breeding life. Rattler doesn't look anything like the Yadkin dogs I have seen. See how rumors start? Just saying.
