Why not be able to take a panel to the woods??

Why not adopt this rule? Keeps a lot of people honest in scoring situations. There is nothing negative to adopting a rule of this nature IMO!

panels going to woods

its really a bs rule. I take a cast back to the club, say an hour away, assemble a panel, and by the time you leave to go back to the woods, that's another hour, drive back an hour, that's 3 hours you have been away from the tree. If it was there, it probably isn't now. Oh you say leave someone at tree? I hunt alone and I am supposed to trust somebody else's spectator to be honest and leave my coon there? NO THANKS. Leave PKC in their little domain, and KEEP UKC for the more honest. Nothing wrong with them having their ways and UKC being different. Like ice cream, not everyone likes vanilla.

If only ukc was the more honest, I wouldn't of posted this. In ukc people know there will be no reprocussions of buddying up on someone. There is no way to defend yourself in certain situations .

Agree 100% hunters in UKC know there are no repercussions for 2 buddies circling a slick or applying rules the way they feel fit to help themselves. Panels and questions with individuals being placed on probation and for suspended for blatant cheating or wrong doing makes some think twice. The problem is that the rules in the other KCs are straight forward and there is actually someone who works at these KCs who can provide you with a rule and a direct answer for most situations. That is why you do not see these silly scenarios and 94 replies of people arguing over the rules. In UKC no one truly knows what the rules really mean and only interpret them to their advantage using all of the gray area. Furthermore, no one at UKC truly knows how to interpret their own rules. You would have a panel going back to the woods with everyone arguing there own interpretation of the rules and nothing would ever get accomplished and the whole cast would leave more confused than when there money was placed up for the question.

All them pkc credentials you got where you getting hosed by them or ukc boys ? I have hunted since 1978 in ukc hunts only got hosed really good once. Had a question years ago at the pkc world I thought I would win hands down till one of the owners got on the panel I ain't stupid I knew how that was going to go so I bowed out gracefully lol !! Far as a panel goes carefull what you wish for I don't want to have nobody's buddy's accross the table from me I will handle things with a cast vote if that don't work go on to the next one those things have a way of working out later wink wink !!

I don't want to see it at the local hunts but it should be allowed at bigger hunts.

I hunted an rqe a few weeks ago, 2 dogs treed on a sapling about 6 inches through and 20 feet tall. Not a leaf on it and no where close to another tree.
It took about 30 seconds to figure out nothing was there. It had a bird nest, not a squirrel nest I'm talking an actual bird nest about 8 feet up the tree. One guy kept shinning it and squalling. I'm thinking to my self surly he isn't going to try this. Sure enough after about 5 minutes of waisting time he says circle it, it could be in that nest. I asked him if he was kidding? He looked me dead in the face and said that's a place a refuge. The other guy with his dog on the tree wouldn't give a vote, he just kept looking at the birds nest saying I don't know. I finally told him I need your vote and he finally said he didn't think anything was there. This samething plays out every weekend somewhere. If we had an option of a panel it would cut this out. Then they would know they are running the risk of being in trouble for doing what they have gotten away with for years.

100% truth I got the pleasure to draw Trevor and his grandfather last year at greencastle. Straight up guy and I agree with the panel, when somebody knows they are gonna get barred they change their tune!

In the other kcs you go back to the woods sombody is getting a time out you really want a panel you don't know deciding that not me. All this hosing going on and I never hear about except on here and most of the time it happened in anouther kc and they get on here and gripe about it because they are to scared to say it over there man has a nice dog he has done a lot of winning but that's why we have moh at major hunts and all of them I know have no buddy's you present your case by the rules you will be treated fairly if three guys want to hose you they are going to do it just wait till next time that guy that hosed me he is on the barred list now you know what I mean Vern.

Tar no one takes them back unless it's very obvious they are being screwed, you don't take them back because the tree can go either way. Before they added the policy that if you are overruled your the one going home a while it was abused, but not anymore that I have seen.

I was one of the first ones to take them back. My gyp treed a tree on the edge of the field that you could hide my house in. The other three never even shined the tree, just said minus it. They messed up because the hunt was over when we scored it and we where only 100 yards from the truck. I didn't even know if you could do it at the time. The panel called Lerry Meeks and he said go back and score it. Took about 10 seconds and the panel said there is no way it can be minused. They circled the tree and those three were written up. Its those kinds of cases its reserved for. That night we were not hunting for the type of money you just wanted to chalk up as a lesson.

Sorry after what I have seen I don't trust panels because of the clicks I want to look those guys in the eye and let them know I am unhappy with them and they will know I don't forget nothing then I will talk to the proper channels and they will be watched I gaurentee it might take awhile but they might just not know who that new guy in their cast is and pull the hanky panky there won't be no panel then either strait to the axe lol. Wish it was like back in the day call time out and get out the golden gloves lol.

Ps: his name might be taryad conkey old , fat grey haired man walked with a limp he don't play either strait to the axe lol.

I'll be there in the fall no doubt , may try to come up, stay at that cellar that's in the clubs house they rent and hunt a night or two after kittens get down and going!! Thanks for the kind word on the ole man. The problem here is the majority of the nay Sayers don't even hunt anymore to know what's really happening out there... Man you can't get the answers you want like that !! There are procedures you go through believe it or not the nay Sayers and non hunters you are talking about were doing this when you were still in diapers!! I talked to several people that said you are a heck of a good guy with a heck of a good dog and I believe them but to get the bad taste of that hunt out I don't know what to tell you but go to anouther one you will win I promise.

1. Did you put a question on the card
2. Did you talk to the moh
3. Did you fill out a formal complaint

Still would have got the same result but it would have been documented several times like that people start watching things hope this helps.

Boys there are repercussions for cheating ,ganging up on someone ,etc , just like YTR said Trevor you have a good name , ruin the names of the ones that cheated you, most all that hunt the hunts know who the cheaters are ! So what if you did not get a UKC win slip your dog cant read and you can't spend it so go on and have a great day and forget it.

I consider myself a coonhunter I hunt in all registries from time to time. PKC is where I hunt the most because it's what we have the most of. I have competed on every level from invitationals to 10 dollar events. This past weekend I was in a final cast of a UKC event and a panel went to the woods with us and Mr. Johnson was the master of hounds. The hunt was ran very professional and I had a great time. My point is this we are all coonhunters and for you Mr. Johnson to get on a public forum and say that UKC has the most honest hunters is insulting and not right. PKC has its crooks but I ran a Purina race enough to know that UKC has their share as well. I have been guilty of being one I don't deny that but I'm not proud of it either. I have two yound sons that love this sport and I strive to be a better example to them than I have been to others in the past. I feel like we should all do the same. I love to play this game and will continue too as long as I am able. If we want our sport to grow we have all got to grow up ourselves and stop putting one another down. We all hunt for the same reason because we love a sport. I hope I did not offend anyone if I did I am sorry. Good luck to everyone this weekend no matter where you are. By the way having the option for a panel don't hurt a thing
