Well you're looking at somebody that is almost done. There's no end to it. Government grows at the local, state, and federal level, just to take care of the expanding programs at the local, state, and federal levels. We get money sucked out at both ends. "Created" full benefit jobs, to take care of the "created" full benefit welfare programs. Talk about a compounding problem!

The rate at which my property tax alone has risen to, is cause for concern. I could almost rent a place for what I pay in taxes to live in my own house.

You're looking at somebody that is ready to sell, live in a cheese box for a house, live cheaply like we have been, and let somebody else pay for it all. I will never take a dollar in assistance, but nobody can force me to run around making what I can to keep my head above water while paying for everything else. Let all the idiots that think this all is a good thing, pay for it. I can live fat and happy on very little.

Yep. I was just thinking about that the other day, we gave up control of the internet starting in Oct. Nobody talks about it now because it was a ways back when the slippery deal was done.

WHY would we give that up? We started it, and Microsoft made it available to the world. It's OURS. Don't know about anybody else, but Russia, China, and Turkey having their fingers on how the internet operates including content and domain names, doesn't exactly give me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

Obama. If it's in the best interest of the U.S. from Iran, to Gitmo, to open boarders, to internet, you name it, he will go 180 degrees the opposite of common sense.

My Day

Up at 5:30. Get ready for work. Got to work at 7:00 AM. Got home about 7:00 PM. Take care of dogs, and do a little work outside til dark, spend some family time with wife and kids. Dog is in heat, and my father-in-law has my truck, so hunting was not an option tonight.

Pretty normal day for me. Not coaching any youth sports programs at the moment (get off work earlier when I'm coaching/going to kids ball games and soccer games). That does take time, but it's worth it.

Sorry to say, that between work, family, hunting, youth sports, and life in general; I just don't have much time to dedicate to talking about how bad things are, and how life s*cks like others do.

Here's wishing a better tomorrow for everyone!

Nothing wrong with any of that and I think most could say the same....gotta learn to be happy where you're at.

But life doesn't stop at that. How nice if Winston Churchill could've lived the life of his predecessor Neville Chamberlain. Life would've been so much simpler believing and preaching to others that nothing is wrong and all will be fine. Fortunately for us he chose a more difficult route, because if he hadn't, there would be no England, or America today.

If you care to, read Ezekiel 3:18-19. If you believe the Bible applies to our lives today, then if we see some bad things coming and fail to warn, we are held responsible for keeping our mouths shut. So I'll keep on writing or talking about what I see until I can't, while at the same time living a personal life where me and mine appreciate each day.

Just got done working a 13 day stretch with 1 day off, 10-13 hour days. I'm going to get raped on taxes.

Why? So people like this can live a soft pleasurable lifestyle for a minor disablitiy. Something that could be reversed with better eating habits, getting off their butts and working.

People call me crazy that I don't get what I have coming to me with my disabilities, both are automatically approval no real hassle. That just isn't the way I think, working hard is a pleasure.

This will make you smile, a guy in town who is not disabled in any way just got kicked off disability payments cause he failed a drug test. These test were put in place by Gov. Walker and challenged by the democrats. Some times the system works.

I'm really surprised Branstand hasn't done that down here in Iowa. It would save the taxpayers money. All of the big EBT spenders in town would lose benefits, no more extra large Monster's, red bulls, mountains of expensive junk food or Schwan's.

I'm surprised how easy it is to get on them & they take everyone. A 20 year young man at work who is pretty lazy & not the brightest applied & is waiting for his food stamps card. He looked at me like I was insane when I suggested a 2nd or 3rd job. He gets tired & stressed easy. It takes about every bit of control not to tell him to grow a set & man up, instead give a weak smile & refocus him on his task for the 29th time in the past 3 hours.

The one thing I don't understand is how people who aren't American citizens get benefits?

I grew up splitting wood & it is hard work. My folks still have wood hauled in, we have a corn/pellet stove. My favorite yearly joke is: I think it's finally cool enough to turn the furnace on, when it's -10 with a 40mph wind.
