SidexSide

Kicking the idea around of getting a sidexside however i don't know exactly which one i want. I really like the Teryx but not sure how the others perform. So i would like something that i can run dogs out of and when not running dogs can take licking and keep on ticking, Ive driven a teryx before but i don't know how others handle/perform. Tell me the pros and cons of each rig.

Thanks Guys

Bellar has had most of them, Polaris, Yamaha, Deere, Kubota, etc. The only one he kept long term was the Polaris. I think they have something like 7000 miles on it. Polaris is the Treeing Walker of the SXS world. There is a reason why they out sell all others.

Thanks for the replys, I saw a 2013 camo Teryx today set up with a 4500# winch full cab minus doors a heater a bed and hood rack and a remote controlled roof mounted spotlight, full aluminum under carriage skid plate with 1600 miles and 220 hours. he told me to make him a fair offer...what do you think I should offer?

I'm not sure what those are worth,,what I would do is call someone who deals with them,,tell them everything you just said,,and ask what the value of it is,,and go from there,,start low on the offer,,
You can always go up on the offer,,but it's hard to go down on it,,,lol

Just tell him I will give 3 for it lol. They high here. Ive been looking. Thats probably a 8k machine. Ive been looking at a polaris mid size 570. You catch em right here with rebates. You can get one in places for about 8300. Most times they around 9.

Yea I want one to coon hunt with, some of these spots I go if it rains the truck will leave deep ruts and the farmers don't like rutted roads. So o figure with one of these it won't rut as bad as a truck

it has a lot to do with where you are standing in what part of the country as far as polaris is best ..
you go to about any rough an steep country and just about everyone you talk to will tell you any thing that polaris makes including the ranger is the leopard hound of atv and sxs world , in flat country people like the ranger in steep an rough country they just do not fit in that good ..

I live in some of the roughest steepest mountains in the country and have had or rode them all at one time or the other and Polaris is king in this part of the world. If you campare the specs on everything they'r tops

Check out battle creek power sports in jasper tn. I do a lot of business with them and they have the best prices in the usa. $100 over cost

I can tell you which one NOT TO BUY...the Arctic Cat Prowler. Junk with a capital "J". I had one and it immediately started to fall apart the day I brought it home. It was so loud that electronic ear muffs activated and turned off as soon as you got in it. You could not ride in it at any speed and have a conversation with the person sitting right beside you.
It was fast and it was virtually impossible to get stuck within reason.
I have always preferred a three wheeler for in the woods, but they are all but gone now. I have a Yamaha Grizzly...my kid drives a Kubota and I like it too. I would not be afraid of anything Yamaha makes.

im in farm and ranch country and most places have one or multiple buggies and get used hard all day everyday, especially on cow calf operations. lots of people around here like myself use these and only use pickup when have to. we have rough country plenty hills and bluffs but definitely no mountains and way less swamp or super wet areas than some where constantly mud bogging.

yamaha rhinos most people liked them but my biggest complaints only seat 2 and super loud.

artic cat have heard several complaints about serious engine problems, oil burning, suspension problems.

yamaha viking is getting real popular around here and i like them, have been around plenty neighbors and friends have but they are super big. the cab and box room though is awesome for 3 hunters and dog box. seem to sit low though and get stuck easier.

ive owned 2 midsize polaris rangers. the 500 was pretty good with couple problems, the 800 was junk! been around countless others and almost all had problems. every one including me likes userability of polaris but not quality. rangers are most popular here but starting to swing to yamaha and honda.

right now im running honda pioneer 700 and been great no problems. typical honda product though... slow, under powered, brakes suck compared to polaris, box has goofy shape and sits so high and at angle most dogs cant jump into my home made dog box. long as honda stays reliable thats what im sticking with. if was in mountains or mud running all the time, or needed faster than mid 40's top speed might look at something else.
