echo joe x alice

i own a male named gr ch johnson's blue norm.
got him green at a year old. he quickly started makeing a coon dog and i am very pleased with him. a tree dog for sure.accurate, nice track dog. when he was younger it would take him a little more time than i liked to get the track going in a direction but has got over that and always tracks the right direction and moves with good speed. locates fast but knows when and how to check if he needs to check himself fast on a tuff track. he is tight mouth on the ground, short bawl on ground, long bawl locate, steady chop on tree. i would call his voice better than average. he is a pleasure to lead if you feel you want to use a lead but listens well enough ya don't need one. he isn't 3 years old yet but i have been training pups with him for awhile now. he has a 1st place win on him from the last hunt of the fall and i will be putting him in some hunts this spring.
fine hound, thanks danny glista for the genetics! that's were it all starts.
i have pictures and video of him treeing i can tex if your intrested.ph 717 817 6331

i have alot of experience with both

I had ran a female named suzie q out of echo joe and alice when she was right around a year old. she was a nice dog not a real wide hunter but could tree a coon and look good doin it and had a HUGE mouth and a beautiful locate. I ran her for around 4 months and that was my experience with her. know I own a male out of gauge and alice and he is one of the easyiest starting most intelligent young dogs that iv ever had the pleasure to be around. he qualified for the 2015 ukc world hunt at 13.5 months old and he is 100% coon dog. hes a go deep deep if needed coon dog and is by himself 80% of the time and that is not man made independence its natural. he treed his first coon at 12 weeks old and never looked back. hes good about havin the coon or I wouldn't own him. this cross was made and im glad that I had the opportunity to get a male out of it. hes availiable in western pa to be seen go huntin and believe me in this weather and ruttin boar coon he will GO. you pull him off a tree he has no reverse.

Echo Joe x Alice cross

I have a male from this cross I call Hank he is a nice dog well mannered and good around the kennel he is a hard fast hunter that can move a track with good speed and trees with good accuracy. He troughs a nice loud locate and a good hard chop and is a very intense tree dog. A couple of things that I need to work on him is he can be a hand full to take off a tree and if he is not hunted down he will jack the tree a little. Here is a video of him at 11 months old.

Cast win for Panic (gauge x alice) at the winter classic!

Posted by jritter on 01-31-2016 03:54 PM:

Squeak (echo joe x alice)cast win Saturday night at the winter classic, 350+ . Alone twice with two coons and 1.2 miles apart !

Posted by Ron Jackson on 01-31-2016 06:32 PM:

Hook

He is off the Gauge x Alice cross. Treed first turned loose coon at 5 months. That was the first time I did that to he and his sister. He started treeing his own coon the first time in the woods and was by himself. He is an open track dog but by no means too open. He has never looked back. Has never checked in once he got the idea why we were out in the woods. Was never put with another dog untill he was well on his way to treeing what he struck. Just now starting to get him out with other dogs, Very independent, very nice tree dog, trys to wind and tree lay ups and is getting better at that. Seems to be very smart and has not been too hard to correct for the things a young hound will put you through. Just now working on him to return to me on the tone and is slowly coming along with that. I don't feel I have ever had another pup that acted better, but I do have one that is just as nice. His sister Speck!

Posted by Ron Jackson on 01-31-2016 06:48 PM:

Speck

This little female will make you wish coon were worth what they were in the 70s and 80s.About everything that is posted on the Hook reply is describing Speck. Absolutely a natural. She has been with other dogs a little more than Hook for reasons unknown to me, she just has been. Split tree, independent, stay put and smart. I would like to add that Speck and Hook will work with another hound if they are in on the same track and tree but don't ask either to cover if they didn't help to work it up. Both will go their own way in most cases. Speck has a high pitch squall most of the time on track and a high pitch chop on tree. You can hear Speck with about any other dog on the tree I believe.

Congrats!

Jeremy, congrats on your placement with AC at the classic and your cast win with Panic. Good luck with them in the future and just want to say thanks to you and others that are hunting Alice offspring. Without you guys putting in your time she wouldn't have the chance to be on the current reproducers list! Thanks Guys,Danny G.

Here's a video of Alice and Hook from the other night. Alice on the left and Hook on the right. Like mother, like son!!

Swimmer!!

Dan Rainville tells me he's the best young male dog he has ever hunted! I'm looking foward to hunting him when he arrives back here at the kennel. Better than Alice or Alice II, gonna make me want to see for myself! Dan likes him alot and see's a great future for him! Time will tell but Danny has yet to lie to me,I'm looking foward to hunting ole Swim once again and see what he is! Gonna be interesting to say the least!! I called him Swiimer,Swim for short and liked him. Will he be the one, time will tell!!! Danny G.

Thanks for all the info so far! We have two of these hounds, one is deep with a coon type hound and the other trees coon around you. Both are independent and both have huge mouths. Both of these dogs hunt hard and are quick, one just hunts a strait line while the other is all around the area ur hunting in. I really like them both!

gauge x alice cross

Jeremy it seems like panic and his brother that I own "rock" are very similar in huntin style rock is a straight line hunter just like panic but as I hunt rock in the cold frozen hills and hollers of western pa I noticed that he has developed a instinct of finding water weather it is a creek a ditch or just a swamp bottom and treein coon that other dogs have no idea are there. I believe to be the best ya have to beat the best and I put him up against the toughes gr nites I can find and he does his thing and im glad to see his siblings in the winners circle too. Danny did a hell of a job making this cross and deserves the most credit out of all of us. I just put em in the timber rock did everythin after that haha

Panic got a win at an RQE at Tuscaloosa al. Split with a coon in the pouring down rain!

Posted by Ron Jackson on 03-13-2016 04:06 PM:

Hook

Put him in his second hunt last night and it was an RQE. They had 65 dogs entered. 4 dog cast and he won his cast but not enough to place. It took 375 to place and we had one mistake that kept us out, he ended the night with 200 plus.4 trees deep and alone. 2 coon seen a big oak den and an empty stove pipe hollow. But I was impressed with the young hound. I think I have something to work with in this male.

Great effort guys

Jeremy, congrats on getting Panic qualified.Ron,all one can do is win his cast and let the chips fall as the may.Sounds like you have confidense in him which is key on moving foward! Later,Danny G.
