Who Would You Like To See Featured In Coonhound Bloodlines ?

Who would you like to see featured in your upcoming breed issue of Coonhound Bloodlines? Any particular dog, bloodline, kennel, breeder or handler you would enjoy reading about? Coonhound Bloodlines magazine is interested in your suggestions. Now keep in mind some of the ones that will be suggested may have been featured in the last couple years. Try to make recommendations you don’t remember seeing featured recently.

Historical suggestions for both dogs and breeders are great. Current dogs, breeders and handlers deserve to be acknowledged. Let’s hear your suggestions. Can’t think of a better group to ask than those of you most active in the breed!

Feel free to post them here or submit your recommendations to editor Vicki Rand.

What=dog
Evan Workman- he has had many accomplishments with a plott on the end of his leash as anyone I know of.
He perpetuates the breed in a competition world or in the big game woods.
He has contributed to the success of one of the most prolific strains of plotts. But he also has been a leader among big game hunters in WV. The blood from his deceased Drum dog is riding around in many bear rigs and catching bears.
Most people don't realize what level of drive Evan has to hunt.

he older guys are the foundation of the plott breed guys like the Walkers Gene and Curtis, Wayne Allen, Charlie Shortridge, John Sturgil just to name a few,these are the ones that someday will be gone but never forgot, thanks to the older generation

UKC has a research department I would like to see UKC do a spotlight on the dogs from each breed that have won the most UKC events. Most articles are done of the people but wouldn't it be nice to see what dogs from each breed ( in the history of each breed) have done the most in the woods & the Bench in UKC events. I know this is something people in each breed would like to see Mabey interview each dogs owner &the handler's of the dogs ( if different) that have been the superior performance animal of each of our breeds? Ever thought about that instead of a popularity contest of the owners let the dogs performance in the wood & bench determine the spotlight for each breed issue.

With this being said does anyone know which Plotts would be featured in such articles. I am sure one of the Kentucky Girls ( Christina or Penny) dogs have the most Bench Show wins as they have been winning the shows a long time, but wouldn't know what plot has the most hunt wins, most likely one of the old tack dogs, Sarge or one of Jim Cannon's plots but I know it would be interesting to see.

Brent Zink good choice, I was hunting in Illinois last month and ran into this guy, good dog man, represents the breed very well, and man was hunting a year old Plott female that was the best tree dog I have ever heard, very humble and this is from a die in the wool walker man

He's a little guy that don't talk a whole lot. Very hard to get an opinion out of him. Last time I seen him he was congratulating winners at 4am at a big hunt.
