Dog Won't Put Weight On Leg?

My male dog won't put any weight on his back left leg. I have looked over everything and there is not a break anywhere that I can feel. No thorns or anything in his pads or bites anywhere or no swelling anywhere.

I'm just wondering if its possible he has sprained a ligament or pulled a muscle or something along those lines?

If he is not better tomorrow I'll be taking a trip to the vet.

Just a thought did you check between his pads and toes?

was you hunting him the night before or he jusy come up crippled if he got some age on him it could be arthirits starting on him or could be a verabrate in his back and pinching a nerve my wifes shitzu kept coming up like that it took 3 trips to differnt vets before the last 1 figure it out if they jump or move wrong it flares the problem up again hope he gets better i would give him some pain med if you have any

Yeah I checked between every pad and I don't think arthritis would be a factor he just turned 2 in july. He acts fine just won't put weight on it. I hunted him friday night for a few hours and he didn't start not putting weight on it till yesterday evening.

is his foot swell up or anything like in a joint he may just sprain it hard to say on something like this

I don't know. He may have jabbed one of his pads or something. I can pull and tug on everything but when I get down around his pads he acts like it hurts a little. I'm gonna docotor him up some and see how he is doing tomorrow

No swelling what so ever.

Epsom Salts

I use a gallon ice cream bucket and put 1 cup of epsom salts in it filled about half way with good warm water. Soak his foot in it for 15 minutes or so a couple times. It will fester out the problem. We have TONS of thorny locust trees here, and that works every time.

Still not any better. It has swelled up today so I got a vet appoitment at 7:40.

Couldn't have happened at a worse time with coon season opening in less than 2 weeks and added purse $kc hunts every night next week here locally..

It may not be what your dog needs but epson salts works wonders for taking swelling down. Its the first thing i do when a dog has swelling. We have locust trees around here and they are hard on a dog.
