-- question about being banned from ukc (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928325845)

question about being banned from ukc

if a person is banned from ukc is that person allowed at a ukc hunt and go out with a cast as a spectator. the guy that is banned had a handler in the cast that was hunting the banned guys dog that is registered to his (grandson) and was also judge for the cast. it just so happened grandsons hound won the cast and 2nd overall. just wondering if he was even allowed on the grounds of a ukc event with him banned.

Following is an updated list of individuals who have been suspended or barred until the date indicated. During the period of suspension or barring, a person who is suspended or barred is prohibited from the following:

1.Registering any dogs in their name (joint or individual ownership). Any dogs currently registered in their name (joint or individual ownership) may be transferred, except that no dog registered in their name, regardless of co-ownership status, may be transferred to any member of their family, spouse, or companion. Companion is defined as anyone who resides at the same address as the suspended individual.

2.Registering any litters and signing any litter registrations in any capacity. No dog registered in their name (joint or individual ownership) may be used for breeding and no offspring of such a dog is eligible for registration with UKC.

3.Entering or participating in any way in any UKC Licensed event, including, but not limited to: co-owner, handler, back-up handler, judge, guide, vendor, spectator, Master of Hounds, Bench Show Judge, Judge or Director for any Conformation, Performance, or Companion event, and are prohibited from holding office in any UKC approved club or association.

4.No dog registered in their name (joint or individual ownership) may be entered or participate in any way in any UKC Licensed event.

5.Receiving any championship points or any wins toward a title for any dog registered in their name (joint or individual ownership).

6.Advertising in any UKC publication or internet site.

7.Receiving monetary payouts from any UKC specialty program, including the Performance Rewards Program, the Beagle Incentive Fund program, or the Merit Club Program.

Any violation of these sanctions or any other UKC rule or policy during the time period in which the individual is barred or suspended will result in their being suspended indefinitely. Rev. 12/12/12

There is a difference in being barred versus banned. I suggest that the OP call UKC on the matter . Is that a good enough answer Barry ?

You make a good point. But do it PRIOR to entering the hunt.
It's all on the back of the card but I'm not using clock time to teach anyone the rules or show it to you on the back of the card. The clock is running, other casts that I gotta beat are scoring points and I'm not using up my dogs hunt time to show some guy rule 4(e). Ask for a vote, put your question in the card and I'll show you the rule the next time we stop the clock.

I also keep rule book in my truck.

Note: all involved in the rule question that started this conversation, talk to people at UKC, get it straight. Apparently the individual is barred or banned for a reason. Keep this crap out of hunts.

Actually ??????

What is the difference between BARRED & Banned . I'm familiar with barred but not so much banned .

Also on the front coonhound page below the Black Gold add in the blue/grey section under "notice of suspension " you'll find this along with a list of names .

Posted by JiM on 06-30-2013 09:20 PM:

Dale, banned is what they do on this board if you get out of line. If you are banned, you have to reregister with a new fake name in order to post. You can get banned from this board and still hunt in the hunts.

There you go , thanks Jim .

Would appear one's a lot more serious than the other . I guess if you're behaving and play well with others it's something you wouldn't know much about .

Posted by JiM on 06-30-2013 09:31 PM:

Oh yeah, one's a hellofalot more serious than the other.

I am not sure if this was the correct way of handling the situation but a few years back a feller who was barred, or suspended, idk, was selling supplies at a local club up here and was asked to pack his stuff and go home.

You have to be in the clique to get away with things like that. I have been to many hunts, I know how they play with scorecards.

Posted by HOBO on 07-04-2013 03:24 AM:

To answer the question.. YES you are allowed on the grounds at a hunt if you have been barred

If you are barred, you can be at the club, but can't participate in any way. You can watch the bench show but you can't handle a dog in the show. When it comes to the night hunt you can't handle, guide, or spectate on the cast.
