Based on this and your other post, are you trying to tell us something? What is your fascination with shooting coons out of season?
You almost make it sound as though you recently were caught ? Is that the case?

I know a guy that did, the fine was $500, court costs $150, lost his hunting license for two years. The new cost is $1500, minimum fine and a year in jail. Wanna chance it?

Now that just wouldn't be right

I have heard of a few guys around here getting citations for things like that, pretty stiff fines for that sort of thing here in Ky so I always tried my best to avoid that sort of trouble.

I have had the fellas in the green trucks around here encourage it. I said it's not coon season and get told just don't bring any to the truck and kill them all.

Posted by joey on 05-18-2013 10:48 PM:

I got in trouble for it when I was 15. We were eating them. I could have bought a lot of steak for the $1200 it cost me.

back

in the 60s couple my buddys got fine dont rember how much it was in the summer time game warden sneaked up them got them for implement of a weapon they was shooting at a coon with a sling shot

I am asking these questions because the elderly men at the Feed Store have brought it up and told there tails or being in trouble. I can not think of anything to post on here at times that is learn-able so I post that. It will be my last past of the such. I apologize.

we dont harvest many in season.....cant rerun a corpse...

Posted by Bob Hennessey on 05-20-2013 04:51 PM:

Around here everybody can kill them with poison, shooting, club and about anything else UNLESS you are a coonhunter and hunt with dogs. Then you better not get caught shooting one out. The feed store even had a recipe posted on how to make the poison to to kill them. If you hunt and a warden checks you you better not have a coon in the truck. You will be paying a ticket. A friend of mine picked a dead coon off the road one night while hunting( wanted to use it to tease some puppies he had.) and got stopped by a warden. He did some fast talking and the warden believed him and let him go and actually keep the coon. Told him he better not do that because most wardens would have gave him a ticket.

HOVIS

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS DO NOT TELL ANY ONE IF YOU DO KILL ONE OUT SEASON AND NEVER TELL THE MAN WHO IS DOING IT EVERY HUNTER THAT HAS A GOOD HOUND GIVES IT A TREAT ONCE IN A WHILE LOL HOPE THIS WILL HELP

I'd say alot more people on here kill em than will admit to it...

I know some actually alot of em that kill everything they tree and see...no matter the age of the dog I for one do not understand this at all but Ive learned there is no need to get mad b/c there gonna do it no matter what we say or do, most folks motto around here is Im killing it no way Im leaving it for so and so to come back and kill!!! Its really a bad problem in my area and I imagine theres alot more killers out there than willing to admit....

if your a coon hunter your a violater. thats what game warden told us in indiana when he checked us.

got caught 1 time. i just got done tellin one of the guy that was with me, thats why i use long rifle hollow points. 1 shot & chuck (game warden) wont know which way it come from. i no more than got it out of my mouth & chuck said hand me that gun jim. he was walking right behind us.

the good part of it was chuck carryed the gun back to my truck. when we got there he said guys we can do this one of two ways. we can ether walk to his truck (1/2 mile) or we could ride. i said hop in chuck. when we got there we had a good time while he wrote our tickets. i told chuck i sure was fond of my rifle. he said when we was through i could have it back.

my wife seen chuck in a store just before he retired. they was talkin & he told her he wanted to catch one more coonhunter before he retired !!

he had a job to do & was very good at it. i got caught no big deal. i should have been caught hundereds of times over the years.

HUM, i know someone on here throwed a perfectly good rifle in a creek to keep from getting caught !!! LOL
