got a plan............raising that style of dog is what it is about for me....one that goes hard, likes to get alone, and is deadly accurate....
Here He Is
Wow! Bam! Tree ole Charlie again! He's probably to good of a hound to breed to most of our sorry old females.

Re: Here He Is
quote:Jeff, Have you hunted with a dog named GrNt Hardwood Hammer that Gene Wolfenbarger owns. He sent a few pups that way awhile back...hadn't heard much about them. I know a man down here bought one about 6 months ago that went your way for 1500.00. I've got a dog (same cross) a year younger that can flat out drag the rest through the woods. Hammer had bred several other females... Just wondering about the pups?

quote:A preacher bought him down here not too far me in Joshua TX. I've never hunted with Hammer but have some of pups out of him from from different females. They are bad to the Bone coon dogs! I've got one and that dog is fast fast fast on track....locates and that's it...tree till u get there. If someone's looking for a stud dog to put some speed in their dogs Hammers it!

They are out there.People dont push them mostly due to finances. Will be breeding a dual ch. this summer from smokey river close to saline sadie and pounder to a real male from homer searls stock.
More on Hammer?

quote:You are right...I had to look at my dogs papers. Hammer is out of Uchtman. All the way. My dogs mother is mollie...which is out of Phydeax. None the less I call this dog Deuce, he can hunt as good as and better than any walker. In 30 years of hunting I've owned a few dang good walkers too! I still believe Hammer is putting this hunt and speed in these dogs.

Kasey Metcalf owned Hammer and finished him to GrNiteCh. He could tell you most anything you wanted to know about the dog.
MIGHT WANT TO GIVE THE GYP SOME CREDIT CODY
quote:Yea, definatly, not to discredit her at all...I've just hunted several young hounds out of different gyps and they had a lot of the same traits...fast on track really stood out; coming treed was second.

ol Phydeaux was quick quick quick....cold outrun most dogs on a running coon, trail up a rough track, and a quicker locater has not been born, maybe some as quick but havent seen one quicker
Ritchie, thats why your so hard to please. If you had it and know what it is, then a standard is high. If you tell me you have the real deal Ill be at your place for a hunt.
