Ryleigh updates.

Pre-op EKG, echo, x-rays and bloodwork done. We have to be back at the hospital by 5:30 AM for check-in...dr. said surgery would last somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6 hrs. Thanks for all the prayers so far...this is just the beginning of a tough 2 weeks for our little girl and I know God is listening!

Well we are checked in...so not looking forward to today, but I know God has my little girl by the hand and will guide her through this. I pray that God be with the surgeon and steer his hand straight and true. I will update here as we are updated throughout the day.

Last update we got was that she was off of the bypass machine and they were about to close things up!

She is out of Surgery and in PICU... Dr said everything went great!!!

Just got back to visit...we got to go back about 3 to take a quick peek and the nurses were still working...so we had to leave for a while...we went back in just now and I was thinking she was still asleep...I asked the nurse a question and Ryleigh's eye's popped open and her head turned to see me...she is a tough little booger! The nurse was asking her questions and she could respond with a head nod yes or no and she knew us and wanted to see MeMe and Nana...I know we have a long road ahead but if you ever want proof that God is good...just come on down to our house I can show you living proof!!

Update from day #2....we are off the vent and breathing on our own! Oxygen sats are still in the low 90's which is incredible for our typical 77 girl. Heart rate was a little slow so Dr. Bradley put her on a pacing machine, but they plan on this being a temporary fix. Ryleigh woke up and asked the nurse for some water earlier and they had Dora playing on her tv when we got here so she must have been awake sometime during the night. She is resting comfortable in the typical Tedder sleep position, "arm over-head"!

Sorry I haven't taken the time to update this in a few days. Ryleigh is recovering nicely...she has been eating for a couple days and even got to get out of bed yesterday....the nurses are going to try and get her up to walk around for a few minutes today. Her chest tube drainage slowed down a good bit yesterday as well which is encouraging. The only setback so far has been an irregular heartbeat. For those of you who know more bout this than i do she is in a junctional rhythm. So for the last 3 or 4 days she has been paced by an external pacemaker...the Drs. seem to be more ok with this than the surgeon so we will see what happens...they have ordered an EKG for today to get a better look at her hear rhythm.
