TEX is accurate and independent. The few pups he has had are showing to be the same way and better! Split treed with a coon. TEX prefers to be off by himself and his daughter has never covered another dog in her life. He is very intelligent, can be trained to do anything. I can cut him loose from the truck and if he hasn't struck anything up, I can call him back to the truck and move on. If i do this a lot, he will start to stay where I put him and tree what he can there but if i get after him once while re-cutting him into a section, he will range out to find one on the outside somewhere and keep doing that until I start calling him in when he tries to leave a section again. He also changes his hunting style on his own with the seasons, he hunts for hot tracks in the summer and in the winter he will run whatever he finds first and works the old bad tracks. He winds coons a lot, if the wind is toward us, he can smell one sitting up from the truck. Obviously how many coons he trees on the outside depends on the conditions and whether im letting him range out or making him hunt the section I put him in but he almost never trees slick. It is a coon or a den and any time we can get a look in a den, we see a coon. When the conditions are decent we see the coon about 9 out of 10 times he trees. His weakest point is strike. He is a tight mouthed dog. He opens decent when hes running an old bad track but if he can smell him in the air he won't bark until he hits the tree. If you hunt with him much you can tell everything about what hes doing out there by the tone of his mouth.
He has HOUSE'S LIPPER 15x in 7 gen. SPRING CREEK ROCK, STYLISH QUEEN, HILLBILLY MAC, RED EAGLE DICK, HARDWOOD BOZO, and more top dogs.

tex sure is a fine looking hound what kind of puppies is he throwing and are they loud and can they move track good
Thank you to those who have inquired but TEX is not and will never be for sale.
About tex's pups:
I am only trying to get some nice females bred to give TEX the opportunity to show that he can produce accurate and independent walkers. So many of the walkers I have hunted with cover way too much and are in way to big of a hurry to get treed. I like dogs that single themselves out and would much rather hand start a pup and have it split treed on its first coon than have one start with the other dogs its first night and then have to attempt to retrain it to get by itself. I would assume their are a lot of people that would agree with me. TEX hasn't been bred much but from what I have seen so far he is throwing just what i like!
As for their mouthes, the ones I have heard have all had pretty nice mouthes, some have really loud mouthes. They all have a nice tone. They all seem to be nice track dogs but he puts a lot of winding ability in them most of all.

Heres a video of TEX treeing. He started pausing a little after we were standing there shining him instead of the tree, lol, but you can hear him treeing really good before we put the spotlight on him.

If your interested in one of the TEX x Harry semen female pups make sure you give me a call and get your name on the list to make sure you get an opportunity to book a pup. 5 are already tentatively spoken for now. Once she starts showing I will go down the list and give people an opportunity to book their pups.

He only has had 21 pups. The oldest are 2. All the ones I have started have been split treers, completely independent. I have heard back about a couple that are about 50/50 but none of them have been "pack-rats" that I know of. He has thrown some nice ones but most of them went to pleasure hunters that won't sell them. Im hoping to see a few in the hunts this summer. I think if these pups get in the right hands they would do very well.
The reason there is getting to be too many "me-too" dogs is cause people are putting too much emphasis on how quick they start and not enough emphasis on HOW they start. These independent minded dogs don't start well with other dogs. They need to be hand started with drags. Then when you take them to the woods they split tree. They don't care what the other dogs are doing. When a puppy trees with another dog its first time out, chances are that it will keep right on treeing with other dogs. It looks nice when they are 6 months old but when they're almost two years old and still tree with other dogs all the time its not so nice.
The other good thing about naturally independent dogs is that you don't ever have to worry about them leaving a tree because of another dog treeing harder somewhere else.
