Kansas Federation of Houndsmen

To all Coon Hunters in Kansas or surrounding states that would like to participate.

I have talked to Terry Nading the President of the Federation 4 years ago or so the last year the Federation was active. Because of lack of participation Terry said the interest levels have dwindeled away and the federation has not been active for this length of time. Terry has agreed to participate in a meeting on December 8th in Scranton Kansas to try and get the Federation back up and going.

We have reserved the Scranton Communitty building on December 8th, 2012 3:30pm in the afternoon to hold this meeting.

We will be taking memberships on this day to get everyone joined back up and plan for a State Hunt in 2013. We need as much as participation as possible.

Matt I have no idea as its been a lond time since anyone has been able to sign up.

I will be sending out formal invites to every registered club in Kansas as soon as UKC can get me the addresss. Please pass along this information to everyone you know.

where is scraton located and where would you possible be having to state hunt i used to go every year it was at columbus and at girard but any further away than that you lose all the mo, ok, and some ark. guys. just something to think about. i would also look at the numbers and see where you drew the biggest numbers from also.

i have no idea on address but its just a block south of casey"s and a couple east .this is a small town and will be no problem finding it

My dad and I will be there. Dues at one time was $5. Isigned up about 4yrs ago. Why in Dec. there is alot to do. This could be moved up.

This hasn't been the first attempt to get the hunt back to an annual event. It's very easy to point fingers and I hope that is water under the bridge.

My name is Jerry Ponton I'm a past Pres. of the Federation and would be more than pleased to take this on. I've done this before. There is no animosity from me towards any one at the other end of this. Just miss the Federation, thats all.

Jerry this sounds GREAT! I just mailed you a letter today for the meeting date and time. Look forward to seeing you as I am sure the Federation will need all the volunteers they can get.

The when and where thing was the problem in all this. No one knows anything about what needs done to get this thing back up and going. I have been questioned about what I know about at Scranton a few weeks ago and then the following weekend at Dennison. All I knew at that point was I was told early in the Spring that there was going to a meeting and State hunt this year. Didn't happen and getting to late to have one. I contacted Terry Nading which is the last President the Federation had when it was active. Terry agreed to come to a meeting held the location and time I mentioned above. I will be glad to see the Federation back up and going as well. As for what you can do to help out, Let as many people know about this meeting and get them there. Without numbers this thing won't work which is what has caused it to become inactive because of the lack of participation. Terry and Brandon I think got tired of doing all the work and no one wanting to volunteer to help out or hold the hunts, etc. No one is more guilty of that than myself and I will do my part from here on out and hopefully others will as well. See ya in Dec. in not before.
