Is This Female National Show Quality?

PLEASE BE HONEST.... SHE HAS SOME SCARS ON HER FACE FROM FIGHTING COONS AND IS A REAL NICE TREE DOG I KNOW SCARS ARE "NOT" TO BE COUNTED AGAINST YOU BUT WE KNOW HOW THAT GOES.

Just an outside observation but it seems like the same 3 or 4 women do all the winning at the national level and you ain't no woman.

Redhead, white ring all the way around, tricolor.....That seems to be the standard and she has all that. Purty dog.

She is a very nice dog. For the level you are talking about, she needs tighter feet, a cleaner chest, and a better head ( especily the roll to the ears)

Even so she is a nice female that will grand easy, if she hasnt already.

She is indeed a very nice looking hound.

Given the thread about clipping hounds, maybe you could shave her or put some Nair on her. That along with some of the other recommendations should put you right in there. LOL

Maybe it appears that the bigger names win the big shows. But the bigger names have worked VERY hard to get there. Done their homework and are usually packing a pretty nice dog. Sometimes that BIG name can hurt you.
As far as it being women that win, maybe women work harder at winning.

Your female is very nice. larrypoe said exactly what I was thinking. But she is by far way better than most. I would own her.

She is a very nice looking dog, and should grand easily. Although from the pictures I don't believe she has that little bit of extra that it takes to win the national level shows. I will say that she has what it takes to win in the dual purpose category.

When you set her rear don't stretch her out so far . The hocks should be straight up and down perpendicular to the bench.
In the first pic she looks like she has nice angulation in the rear (stifle joint of the back leg)

In the second pic you have her stretched too far and if you'll compare the two pics ,when you stretch her out you loose that nice angulation that you want in the rear and the stifle becomes more straight .

She looks like a nice gyp and worth putting out there with some work.

Last I heard from her was over a month ago and she was done for good. That all us cooners aren't worth a dern. I have tried to get something nice into her hands and she always gets rid of every dog she gets. She even owned "Okeechobee Joe" for 8 months. Now look what he is winning. I guess the 3 years of friendship that I gave her, don't mean squat.

Anyway, how have you been?

Here is "Martha White", her mother was a grand daughter to Mac.

Stacy , I must admit I get some of these hounds confused but is Joe the dog that is black headed with alot of color and a more houndier type dog . I saw Laura handling one like this early last year and I absolutly loved that hound . It never even got a look that day and I thought it was the best thing in the ring. It may have been at Walker Days.

I know she won't keep one long but I do respect her experience and knowledge even when she's being outspoken /LOL!!

I've been good. Thanks for asking. Not hunting as much as usual because of my health and kittens still being in the dens.

Greencastle is about 3 hrs. north of me and I'm contemplating riding up there early in the morning just for the day.
