Direct Sons of Smokey River JBS Chief

Anyone know of any direct sons of chief that are still able to produce? I know the fly dog that Appels have but cant recall any others. Oh yeah, the chiefs blue Joe dog but dont know much about him. Any help?

Wayne Baker has a Gr.Nt. Male off of him. I think he can still produce.

i dont know much about the bluetick line but these hounds should be pretty old and would have a hard time hanging a female

Deeds, If the male is kept in shape. They should be able to produce for a pretty good while. Now a dog that has been laying around a couple of years and not hunting may make a diff. But I have not been known to be a breeder anyways. LOL

Yes, Sheps Smokey Ri Cheifs Blu Trapper. But only available through AI. And only to females I approve. In fact I have 2 very nice pups out of Trapper that just turned 7 weeks old. I expect to have another litter on the ground in 4 more weeks and just bred him to my Smokey II/Rankins lead female last week.

PS Earthgirl, Bullet is dead.

Chief males

Geronimo still is, Flatwoods Blue Jake in Oklahoma is a littermate to SR Dancer, he can still produce, I also believe Blueticker on here still has his Joe dog out of Chief as well.

Ch GrNtCh 'PR' Smokey River Chief's Blue Bum, owned by Jeff Story is 9 yrs. old and doing good. His mother was a littermate to Double Springs Echo, and Smokey River Be's blue Jean. They are out of Sexton's Jimmy and J-Bell's Be.

I think Mark Vest from Texas has a Nite Champion out of Chief, but he would be 11 or so.

You have the Spider dog up in Missourri that is a littermate to Apple's Fly dog. He is suppose to be throwing some nice ones.

Just some I could think of to through in with the ones that were mintioned.

Chief son

The Dan dog in Talequah goes back to Darby stuff on his dams topside, and Brazil Creek stuff on bottom....

Posted by jim craver on 10-22-2005 02:27 PM:

Bullet II, Where is the Bum dog located? And the Spider dog? I seem him advertised once or twice but completely forgot about him.
Jake Appel, I'm definately keeping an eye on Fly. The female that Corey bred to him is a full littermate to my female. So, I am particularly keeping an eye on his litter.
Any others for my consideration? Thanks ya'll.

Posted by DRP on 10-22-2005 03:44 PM:

I had 2 pups off of Bum from 2 different females. Both were running and treeing at 6 months.. Nice all around pups. The first one got loose during a tornado at 7 months old...never saw him again...
the other was split treeing and holding pressure, not backing other dogs on a possum...at 9 months...but he did run the heck out of a deer..once..LOL!! Cured him of that quick...Last time I heard him he was treed as we walked the other direction to a 75 year old mans dog...never heard or saw him again..believe he was stolen out of the woods at 11 months old.

Both had real nice mouths..

Heard different takes on Bums hunting ability, but he threw nice pups, at least the ones I had.

I believe Bum is around Lee's there in south east Oklahoma, an old man was hunting him for Lee, last I heard.

Chief

Don't know where you are located, but Wayne Bakers Jake dog can flat get it done in the breeding pen. He is nine, but can still cover a female, and get large litters. If you like that breeding, there are some offsprings of Chief that go back to his ancestors more than he did. I have one here that is saturated with Chief, and Dryfork Blue Spud breeding. What about the Blue Music Freeze Dog. He was the last son out of Chief. If he is living, he shouldn't be that old.
