Illinois Fur Prices?????

Would like to hear what people have been getting paid for fur in Illinois??

Posted by PlottChaser on 01-23-2012 10:29 PM:

Haven't sold any yet, gonna ship them up to NAFA after season. I'm gonna bet, after watching the markets that you average 8-10 with the best bringing 15-16. But that's just a guess.

Not much. I only shoot them out when a pup needs one. I wouldn't carry one too far, that is for sure.

NY has been $25-$35

Posted by Bobby Reynolds on 01-24-2012 06:49 PM:

I was just curious. Last night, at a pkc hunt, I was listening to what some guys were telling they got paid. I just couldn't believe they were that high. I haven't sold a coon hide in 6 years. Probally won't for awhile either. But if what am hearing is true, the ditches will be full of traps if they already aren't.

Posted by COYOTEHOUND on 01-24-2012 06:58 PM:

Trappers have that right...and I am pretty sure they have.

look at the dogs in your signature.

Billy,

I don't shoot many coons and do not intend to. I was more worried about trappers going after them. The first 2 dogs in my signature haven't seen 4 coon between them in over 6 months.

COYOTEHOUND, I understand their rights, I just hate to see alot of coon disappear.

coon prices.

got 10-25 for coons on 12/14/12. in central illinois. you are right about alot of traps being out. sucks for the guys who have dogs. have to worry about your dog getting caught in trap just cause the prices are up.
