feed

i feed pride dog food 18.00 fifty seems to do okay

I know nothing about black gold.I use Joy 24/20 professional year round.Around 20.00 for 50#.I used Pride 24/20 then they changed their feed or maybe a bad batch. It became really oily which made it weigh more and you get less food.IMO

Save your money, you would be better off going to Walmart and buying Ol' Roy....................Tim

Only for top notch Walker Dogs

If I was feeding a bunch of walker dogs I would go to dollar general they have good dog food 25# for like 6 bucks its good stuff .......

I used to feed Diamond (High Energy 26/20 I believe) $20 for 50 lbs, one sack every 9 days. I switched to Purina One Large Breed(26/12) and now feed one $34 for 34 lb sack every 14 days. I spend pretty much the same amount of money but tote 68 lbs instead of 150 lbs now. I now get alot of compliments on how my dogs look and they muscled up alot after changing. JMTCW

You get what you pay for

I feed Diamond Extreme Athlete. 32/25. I feed less than I have any other feed, and the dogs look and feel better than they ever have.

I honestly think Native (Level 4) is a better product still, but I don't thing it's worth another $13 a bag for 40#.

EA is costing me $32.60 for a 40# bag.

Bang for the buck

I feed 2 1/2 cups a day to keep my 60# female in good shape hunting her 3-5 nights a week. Honestly it's not bad when it lasts 1/2 again longer than a less quality feed.

It took me a long time before I decided to pay more at the store, but over a few months time it's not that much more, and it's worth every penny.

I've been feeding Sexton Brothers Pro-Endurance 24/18 for a while now. My dogs do very well on it. Shinny, healthy coat, full of energy and they maintain weight hunting 4-6 nights a week. This food was developed by a Fox hunter for fox hounds. I've fed Diamond, Pride, Sportsmix, Purina, etc. and got the same or better results on this dog food for alot better price.

DOG FEED

HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED THAT NO MATTER WHAT BRAND YOU FEED THE DOGS ARN'T GETTING AS FAT SLICK AS THEY USED TO, HAVE FED PURINA,PRIDE, SPORT-MIX,ALL WITHIN THE LAST YEAR HAVE A COUPLE DOGS AFTER TWO NIGHTS HUNTING JUST LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN STARVED KEEPS GOING UP BUT THE QAULITY IS GOING DOWN, HAVE USED THAT TASTE OF THE WILD FEED WITH GOOD RESULTS BUT TO EXPENSIVE FOR KENNEL USE,MAYBE THE BAN ON HORSE MEAT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE, ANY SUGGESTIONS,

Actually no, I am feeding Diamond EA and they are just as slick and muscular as ever.

Matter of fact I think it's a little too much right now and am thinking of backing down to the lamb and rice or something less because they are gaining more weight than I want, even in the cold and even gettin hunted.

Can't hunt them as much as I would like, but lesser feeds would have been showing signs on them now and with EA it's the opposite, they are still gaining weight in spite of the hunting.

It's some potent stuff.

it is my understanding alot of feed companies least cost formulate their products....the 3 mentioned here i have tried before and had same results that you are experiencing, they are more concerned about pricing than quality.

I feed shur-gain lifetime performance 52$ for a 33# bag I wish I could get a good feed that is cheaper but it's all around the same price up here so it's just as easy to get it at the feed store I talked to the owner about getting a skid of ultra but he can't get it across the border

Some Tractor Supplies carry Sportmix, Diamond and some other good feeds, you might just have to ask them to stock it for ya.
