If you hunt in Fl. you deserve to have the best hounds ever. I will stay in ohio and put up with some bad weather.
I wonder why domes rattlers are white like that and some real dark brown. Good kill !!!!!

Looks like a Timber Rattler to me. Sometimes called Cane Break Rattlers. There is some variation in their color according to the part of the country they are. I've never seen one in Florida so I don't know the color. Here in Ga they are darker in color. No, it is not a Diamondback.
They are just snakes! Something you have to have respect for when in his domain! A way of life here. No need to get all bent out of shape over them.

I had the same thing happen to me about 20 years ago. My pen was setting on the ground and there was a hole in the back that the rattler crawled under. When I found it the dog was between the snake and the hole The dog was barking and the snake was singing. I shot him with a pistol through the pen. The one I killed was not as big as this one, about 3 1/2 foot.

Just going by the show i saw on animal planets last week showed them catching the eastern diamond back in public park and releasing them into less populated areas.... they said it was most dangerous one in Florida,,,

Least you 're doing the right thing with them.
good deal
Eastern diamondback. Timber rattlers have solid black tails.
