I'd say you may want to make sure you have bail money in wallet for trespassing and hunting out of season for next time.

Posted by Kris Cisna on 05-26-2011 05:41 AM:

First I think I wouldn't shoot out of season and I dang sure wouldn't get on the internet and talk about it.

Posted by larry harvey on 05-26-2011 05:46 AM:

dogs cant read signs.i know in tn.your supposed to attempt to contact land owner before you go get it.but if your killing coon outta season consider yourself lucky

Posted by on 05-26-2011 05:48 AM:

You would find your self with a felony charge in Texas real quick.
They don't play around here. As far as my code goes? I don't turn loose where I know there might be trouble. If I have to go get my dog I make contact with the land owner if he is on the property. If not then I leave my gun at the fence and go get my dog.

Daaaaannngggggg, man you done did the nasty and then put it all over the internet too !

Posted by on 05-26-2011 06:06 AM:

don't know who you are, but you should delete this post before the wrong idiot reads it, copies it, and starts more trouble for those of us that love hunting.

Pretty simple really. Next time DONT TAKE A GUN WHERE YOU DONT HAVE PERMISSION..Go in from where you do have permission. Go to dog. Get dog. Dont shine tree.Just get out. Dont want to be having a truck parked up and down the rd in front of the posted property. Thats pretty stupid and what got you caught to start with probably. That or the shooting.

"But I wanted" u stiuped feller, u sound like HSUS. Wat can I say . A cracker from up north of here, cant say he was a Yankee, fell off the riverbank into the Edisto River on a Grand American hunt.g. On a slick bush by the way , then he asked me to go back and show me a coondog, because the guide had left ther gate open. What a piece of sht cracker , i thought to myself, you can hunt at my place cause there are no gates or tresspassing signs becase signs make my place look like a piee of futureistcs sht. So, he came on down the road about 30 miles and turnt loose and I went on to bed, the dumb moron cracker. Needless to say , unless he fount somebody else iterested in his dawg , that that dawg got hauled back up higher then from here. Piece of craphandler.

GA Dog , you are a rough feller. I mostly have aspot of 12,000 acres of private land to hunt on. Within that area there are three one ace out parcels and a 400 acre tract belonging to somebody else. Over the years there has been some antagonistic features going on between the familise . I caught them one night behaving theirselves riding on a public dirt road late at night and asked them if the wanted to go to the tree with me which they accepted. His son shot out that coon and lo and behold next thing you know is I am invited to hunt on a 400 acre parcel that my predecessor coon hunting buddies would not turn loose near of for fear of starting up an uprising. Sometimes it takes time in my estimation, Just don't deliberately screw up , do like my friend suggest down south and leave your gun at the fence, turn your light off and haulass in and haulass out withh your dog. Some time along your you lifespan if you can do somebody afavor, it may be appreciated. On the other hand, any law promoting duffus may as wellexpect that, soewhere , some time , he has done ferked up , and may hope to retirer as a dog catcher or ditch digger or something along those lines Because , I DO NOT FORGET, But I am required to forgive, enna a bich? Lets see. a half mile buffer along a half a circle. because thier place was along the edge of the river IS, in order to avoid their 400 acre place, amounts to ; like a 2,500 foot buffer around a half cicle , dont yousee, so the buffer was a hellofalot biggr that the 400 acre out parcel .{ I can't do the math at this piont to night but if the buffer is 1,100 acres plus the 400 acres of private, It means I pcked up anothe couple thousand acres not to worry about hunting on. Also, The quail hunting place I hunt on did not have to get their ass a in a wad aboint a stupid ponter going crazy and endindg up over there. Pluss , the good thing about it all is they are all mighty nice people. The only thing I must worry about hunting down there is alligators, not peoples , not van trucks nor cars. I sure do wish they would open up the season on Alligators though. But if they did , they wopuld not get enough of them out of the way for my grandson to be able to go swimming like I used to do as a chile.

Here is a code you might want to start using - it's called a code of ethics. Don't intentially tresspass and don't kill coon out of season.

Guys like you give coonhunters a bad rep.

Where I live in the lower part of SouthCarolina. Lets just face the facts:
Setters- gentlemans dogs.
Pointers _ ground covering ( poorland dogs that had to cover ground) to find birds.
Spaniels_ a happy medium.

Feistes - a yapdog that causes a hound to get in a fight he don't really want a part of.
Catch dogs - cracker working dog ,
Traildogs,- escapee type trailing typa dogs and cold nosed..
Ankle dogs - all houds , and most silent
curdogs - croossed up dogs with a higher % tage of hounds that ears flopped down , THAT would DO. but most weould or could not make the grade.
Deere dog , a very cold nosed dog you could put his nose into because deer were scace) then trail,
Jump dog_ a much hotter nosed dog to dilly dally around with a a deer dog tiil he gets a good whiff.
Rip dog _ a deer dog that dang near runs by sight and cuts off when the deer gets out of the drive.
Baydog ( getting close to the bottom of the totem pole now) Watches an animal in distrees and cannot shut his mouth.
Treedog- The lowest on the socio econo scale , because he does not have to see it, just has to know i t ios there and open it's mouth. AKA nword dog. Forgiveme please. \
HOG ROOTER - ANY DOG THAT COULD BEAT A PIG TO A PIGGED DOWN CORN FIELD , FETCH UP THE DOVE AND DO GOOD AND KEEP THE PIGS OFF THE DOVES BY TAIL BITING , SNOUT CATCHING AND OR EAR CATCHING, aka BOAT DOG. NOT TO METNION, shaking hellout of a snake. The lowest of the lowere class. But every body had one.

First off this is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen a person post on here. Your a trespassing poacher. You turn loose where you don't have permission, and you kill out of season. That makes you a criminal.......baseball has steroids and coonhunting has idiots. Atleast steroids only hurt the ones taking them, idiots hurt the whole bunch.

l.lyle, you crack me up. Half the stuff you say don't make sense and the other half I understand.........I love it. Keep it up.....it makes my day after a long twelve hour night shift.

Every hard hunter kills a few coon out of season, lets be realistic and just about every coonhunter has trespassed.

Now getting on here and talking about it might not be the best idea but this is a hunting site and I could care less if some nut comes on here reading it!!!!!

I am taking strength in seeing no one has answered my above mentioned post. I hope you will all take a little time to think about it before you reply, and I take your as to the cleaners , come on.

Not necesarilly talkin about you NC 197 , Enna be funny so? I know , you know what I bees talkin ' bout enna so? Haf de time I ain't know what i'se trawkin bout neither.

I have went and got dogs off property I wasn't supposed to be on, everyone who hunts with hounds has. That is not the point. He turns out on private property, kills a coon out of season, hides his gun, and then brags about getting a break from a deputy. Sounds to me like he should be thanking the good Lord for one more chance to learn a lesson. If you don't do stupid stuff you won't have to worry about getting caught and don't brag about it on a message board where the oposition could use it against the whole group. Don't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out.

P.S. Everybody read l.lyle's post and think about it. It actually has some pretty good points in it.

I will not turn loose on land I do not have permission to be on. I don't care if every tree holds a coon. I have gone on to land I do not have permission to be on to get my dog... without a gun. I sure as heck won't get on the internet and talk about doing something against the law.

If you think you can't get in trouble by talking on the internet... think again.

They dont around here if they have any sence and want to tree coons. We dont have enough to be doing it. Sure I probably would if I lived where you do and had coons in every other tree.
