What Dog Keeps You Off The Couch?

For me I have two that no matter what the weather is or how tired I am, when the lights dim outside I can't take staying home knowing the excitement these two give me. First is my Quick Flash female and the other is my stud dog Roadtrip who is off Flash. Flash just has that "wants to please me" personality that gives us a special bond and Roadtrip just has the action and mouth that puts chills down my back. The track speed and mouth he uses on a cold coon or moving coon is what it's all about. Let me here about the ones that turns your crank. Here's a short video of Roadtrip that gives you a little idea of what excitement he has stored inside of him.

Just click the picture...GrNiteCh PKC Ch Roadtrip

10 years ago, nothing kept me from going almost every night, regardless of the weather. I had several dogs that I would classify as January coon dogs. Today, due to age and health, even though I have good January coon dogs, it takes some good weather to go hunting, even with my day time Mt Cur squirrel dogs. I reckon time catches up with all of us.

Enjoy your good health while you can.

Look for my thread on the English board, I post some videos of my dogs in January. Good January coon dogs are scarce as hen's teeth.

Glad you got a couple good ones Ben.
I haven't had a dog that would "excite" me in quite a few years.
(Well , since Ben was a pup , anyways.)

When I first saw this thread THIS is what I thought it was about...and I was going to post! We JUST have pets... not hunting coonhounds SO... they DO take over the couch. The ONLY good thing since my beloved bluetick died is... when we're not pup sitting.... we only have ONE coonhound to stretch out over at least 3 sofa cushions so we both have room. IF we have the kids in the room someone is still doomed! I would take that bluedawg back in an instant... AND... back in the day, before we got him in retirement... he kept His Hunting owner off the couch!

HappyHunting for all who can get out in the woods tonight and any night! Have a GREAT time and may you have many a night that you are GLAD your dawg forced you out there!!! Lucky!!!! Heather

my ole "Thick Creecks Double Deuce Shady" was as fine of a hound as i ever knew......no she was not the best, but to me she was special......that B&T girl could get it done!...............she would not bark in the pen UNLESS she wanted to hunt.....and i walk outside everyday to see if i can hear her...............god bless her, she passed away in 1996,,,,,,,I,d go out in a freaking blizzard if she barked and wanted to go!!!!!!!!!!

RIP Shady Girl

I have had and I still have a couple of dogs that only bark in the pen when it is a good time to hunting. It is awful hard to hear them bark and not load them up and go hunting.

I have found that if they don't bark, it is best to stay at home.

Enjoyed the vids. Nice tree dogs with good mouths.

Excuses to stay home are easier to come by as you get older.

Larry let me know what night you want to head out, any work for me and she's always ready to smile for the camera. I figured you would say ol Driver.

I know the feeling Brian, Rude sure has been a good one for ya. Hope you can find some young blood to keep your "old" blood flowing for the next 11 years. lol Later Ben

I sure liked that pups looks when he was young. I bet he is real houndy looking now. Good luck with him. Your Pistol female puppy looked real sharp in the head. Eagan sent me a picture. Her momma is a real coondog! Hope your pup turns out just like her.
