This recipe will work well with that whiskey. Just replace the tequila [or supplement it].

I made these and this is a great recipe!! Merry Christmas!

Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add one peastoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still ok, so try another cup just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy.

Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Pick the frigging fruit off the floor.

Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaters just pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who geeves a s....t. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add one table.

Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the wishdasher.

Cherry Mistmas!

cold weather

i average a bottle of crown in 6 days ....dont touch the stuff on sunday

Posted by Jim Bartley on 01-14-2011 02:16 AM:

If the bottles are corked, such as the Maker's Mark, it'll be good as long at the corks didn't dry up too much over the years. The Old Taylor tends to be a cheaper bottling then Maker's Mark, and might not have kept too well over the years, but who knows?

Whiskey - actually Bourbon in this case - doesn't age in the bottle after it's been removed from the new oak cast. The issue you might have is that the corks might have deteriorated over the years, especially if not kept at the proper humidity. There is a reason wine is stored on it's side... it keeps the cork moist and the seal good. However, whiskey - or if you're an ol' Scot blooded bonnie lad like me... whisky - the alcohol content is so high that if stored on it's side for too long the the alcohol will destroy the cork. It the corks are bad, then the whisky might have oxidized which would make it taste bad. Hard liquor usually will last a long time if properly stored (I'm talking many, many decades). Good luck and enjoy it neat with a splash of water... no ice!!!

Caution.... do not build a bonfire and think just one little drink of that whisky shure would be good.... next thing ya know all the whiskey is gone and your wife is mad cause you spent all night in the back yard with your friends drinking and she couldnt drink!!!
