Pzazz Dog Feed

First off,I feed Pzazz and like the results, thats what got me to selling it. Just looking for other hunters opinion of it, good and bad if any!!
I have a customer that said his dogs were in the best shape, and it takes less feed, he said if he was to cut them back anymore on ration he would just walk out and show them the bag!!LOL

dogs ate it ok, but i could not keep weight on them when i actually started hunting them real hard. i would say if your not hunting your dogs hard, it is ok. and it for sure will not keep a female with pups fat and slick.

Posted by bbsplash on 05-29-2010 09:25 AM:

I feed six hounds,3 would not eat it. One had bloody stool when he ate it and lost a lot of weight. It was very yellowish in color, much more so than other feeds I have tried.
Didn't work well for me...

Eddie you asked for honest opinion. I fed it and I found pzazz to be a mediocre dog feed. Any dog feed on the market today will do a good job if the care taker does his job BUT imo there are a few feeds out there that will do a better job than others. The feed I have found to do an outstanding job is Enhance and invite anyone to try it. Be sure and give it a couple months like you should all feeds. Good Huntin to you

Thanks guys for your input!!! Guess maybe one of the reason's it is gainning in popularaity is that it is $21/50lb bag!! I have two females with pups on them, both nice and slick, with a shiney coat, and that is on the 22/16,pups are three weeks old and aim to swap to 26/18 until pups are done!!! As far as the blood in the stool, I would be getting some Veterinary advice, maybe wormer!! It has alot to do with avalability, I know that also, we are tring to fix that. Looking for Dealers all the time, all over!!

fed it, liked it, delt it for awhile but couldnt move enough volume to make it worth it.

black gold was accualy a favorite of mine too but since its not made in the area anymore its very hard to find around here now.

I fed it for a pretty good while, liked it ok, just lost a place within reasonable driving distance to get it.

I have to laugh at these statements. I seriously doubt Pzazz dog feed killed your dads dogs because it had chocolate in the feed. Your dads dogs probably died for lack of care taking, not the dog feed.
Pzazz did fine, all I wanted to say is I found better.

Joy is a surprising better than average mediocre dog feed. You should do fine with it. If you want the best bang for the buck try Enhance.

Sorry Zach..Pzazz has only been on the market for a few years and the people who make it are very conscience and particular about the quality of the ingredients that go into it.

Pzazz Dog Feed

I thought I would try it and I hunt HARD, but the stools turned to a greenish color. As far as dogs wearing out , couldnt tell it by me , I hunt these hounds probably harded than most and energy is always there . I only feed the 26/18 and just give them 2 cups per day. They look great and act good , eat it just fine.

Im not saying Pzazz wont do your dogs justice because it will, if you take care of them. Eddie has showed me several pictures of his dogs and they seem to be in great shape+he appears to be a hard coonhunter. I also think that if you look at the bags info it says 3-5 cups a day under normal conditions. I have hunted 7 nights a week for years and I have never been able to feed 2 cups a day of any feed manufacture.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, feeding dogs seems to be a very gray area on these boards.

I feeded Pzazz for about a year but I couldn't keep weight on my dog. beings we only have 2 dogs cost isn't a big issue I found that purina pro plan works better for my dogs. I also so the green colored stools and even a little blood once in awhile. I know my dogs don't have worms they are wormed every month and are house 1/2 time house dogs or on cement. just my opion I know guys that feed it and love it. ever dog is diffrent some foods work good on other dogs. so not going to give it a negitive feed back. Have seen some hounds do great on it!

Try Diamond Extreme Athlete.

I fed my 2 dogs 1/2 of one of those round, cardboard salt containers once a day and if I didn't hunt them at least 3-4 nights a week they would gain weight. Very little stool, no smell, and the shiniest healthiest my dogs have ever looked.

I have and it is good quality dog feed imo, year round if hunting hard. Also fed the Diamond Natural chicken and it did good until winter hit and I was hunting 6 nights a week then it broke down.

Dogs are different. I should take back water on stating I have never been able to feed two 2 cups to a dog and to keep the weight on because I have had a few. Just been a while. Im quitting this thread while I am ahead and Eddie I should not have hijacked your post, my apolagy.

Lee, I have also had success with th EA feeding 2 cups or less. With the summer here and the down time, I switched to the natural lamb and rice thinking it would serve my purpose. I don't like it. Coats started flaking, loss of muscle tone, and a case of copography (sp). It may do well for someone upgrading to it but I will be going back to EA next time I buy. There is no comparison for the money. The quality protien and fat in the EA is crucial in what I ask, and expect, my dogs to do.

CSnowgren there are very few dog feeds that can withstand the really harsh hunting conditions. You know what I mean about the muscle tone, sleakness of the body mass. One of those dogs that when pulled out of the box you can tell hes been hunted the hair off of and in premo shape. My top three feeds are Enhance Professional Athlete, Diamond Extreme, and lastly Pro Plan 30/20 Chicken blend. I hear there are others like the Native Level 4, BillJac and probably more.

Ive decided to take a break from most nights in the woods this summer and backed off to the Enhance 24/20 Hunters Edge. I didnt think I would be satisfied but found the opposite and I thinks its doing a great job. 50lbs for 19.5$, dogs look really good. Probably not as good as the EA or the EPA but im ipressed.
Summertimes not really a good time to judge dog feeds. Cold , falls that lead into winter and your gut hunting your dog 8 hrs a night 7 nights a week, then they have to warm themselves in their boxes when sleeping. I am ramblin again and mean to hush up.
