Tracker "Flash" Lights
I hunted with a guy last week that had one of the Tracker Flash Lights (blue) that slide onto a collar and was pretty impressed so I ordered a couple. Just got them today (1 blue & 1 orange), does anybody else use these and what do you think of them? I know they throw off some serious light and will definitely help me "see" how the dogs are hunting. Will be using them tonight, can't wait. wd
I am addicted to them now. Mine broken the other day and I feel naked without it. How did they manage in the old days??
How is that Clover dog?? Ace??

Sent you a pm. wd
They work great, it's pretty neat to sit on a ridge and watch your dog work a track in the lowlands.

Just curious, why not in a competition hunt? If your dog's doing his job it shouldn't matter if everyone can see him. Not to mention you might be hunting in unfamiliar territory where you don't know what roads are close by. A little extra precaution would be nice.

we have all the colors and its fun to put the clear, red, and blue collared dogs in the back of the truck. People move out of your way. I don't think we will hunt without them again. Our dogs look great with their reflextive collars, lights and such. Its also helpful if you do have a young dog screwing up you can fix it faster and easier with the tri-tronics. I think they should make it mandatory in the competitions anyway.
I've had all the colors I love the blue & green

And your all right. I'm just getting in from the woods and man do they work great. Best $20 bucks I've spent in a long time! wd
We have had all colors and were very pleased with ours. Sometimes we're a little rough on our equipment though and they were well used! So well used every single one we bought, the rubber collar guides snapped on them eventually lol. That was the only problem we ran into. I think they are $2 to replace, we ended up just using black electrical tape! haha. The batteries are cheap, and easy to replace as well. Get ours at walmart. Good product for sure!

I have been useing them for a year and they are great I have 2 blue ones. Where I live their are alot of country roads which people drive 2 fast, so a flashing bue light will grab the drivers eyes, hopping they don't hit my hounds. the tracker has a good battery life as well.

wayne i have a blue one i really like they show up very well the only problem i have is when the dog comes in richard hides i think he doesnt like flashing blue or something hmmmmmm
I bought two of them at Autumn oaks 2008 I think. I used them for a couple weeks and then just quit. It was just one more thing to turn on and fuss with and I got tired of it. One I gave a way and the other I left on the dogs collar till a puppy chewed it and broke it.

I was told they are the poor man's garmin.
I love them to use on young dogs. It helps me tell what they are doing better than just using my ears. Another added plus is that they are supposed to help keep the coyotes away. This time of year if a dog gets too close to a den it can turn out very bad for the dog.

"THEY ARE IN OUR THOUGHT'S AT EVERY TREE"
I used the Marshall Powermax lighted collars for a couple years. I fell in love with hunting with a lighted collar. When I switched to a Garmin I bought a Tracker light to use on my Garmin. I liked it, it was bright and worked well but it didn't last 2 months, broke and fell off. I haven't replaced it.
I liked that a simply twist and it was on. I hunted in a hunt shortly after I got it. Had the Garmin on my dog and left the Tracker light off. Dogs went in and got struck and next noticed a white light in the woods. The Tracker light and come on by itself with the dog moving through the brush. Guys in the cast thought someone was in there trying to pull dogs off a tree.
Good item for $20.
My hearing seems to get a little worse every year but in a pinch the tracker takes me in the right direction and I can still see a flashing light .
I really like the flashes. We have clear and a blue one on our Garmin collars. I also bought a green one but i only had it out one night then it stopped working. On the clear one the rubber bottom also broke but its held on with tape for now. They certainly are worth $20.

NOW I remember what I didn't like about them!! I had marshall collars and when you put the flash on the collar the collar would not buckle tight enough and would fall off the dogs head. Therefor I either had to put it on the regular collar or run a shocker all the time and I just got tired of doing it. Maybe now that I have a garmin collar I might like it better.

Ron, it still may not fit Muppet then. I run the Garmin collar with a light on Boo and it's not as tight as I'd like it.
I do like the lights. I run blue on mine and it shows up well. Several other guys around run them too. It's made me hit the brakes pretty hard when I see a flash in the middle of the road. I've seen 2 dogs on the road with them.

Wayne I have two clear or white, I love them..Keep one on the Garmin and the other on the dog collar..Bought them when they first hit the market and never had a problem with either one...
