none if you can't find it in your breed it's time to change breeds. i don't really care if it done just not my cup of tea.
i will say this much at least you will know if it's a crossbreed rather than a hound who doesn't match there papers

I know a guy that has already done that and he claims it worked very well A Stylish bred walker X Bulldog...the only problem with that type of cross is that you end up having to make it quite often....I've got two crosses that i'd like to try... the first is a cross between my Plott gyp and a good athletic bulldog..if i can find one..and the second would be a Jagdterrier X plott. I've got everything i need for both crosses but the bulldog.....they should all be lots of fun if i can ever get'm here.

Bluetick x Plott, that would be the strongest outcross possible within the hound breeds, well, anything on a plott would be....

Here it is!

Nocturnal nailor to a bloodhound or Sackett Jr to a bloodlhound.Alot of tree power and alot of track power..

Posted by john nannemann on 01-15-2010 02:47 AM:

one that would produce dogs faster and better then every bodies other fancy pants "purebred" dogs!

Posted by ml2543 on 01-15-2010 03:03 AM:

What about a dang good coondog (any breed) with a Miller bloodlines English pointer? You would get speed and a good nose from the pointer.

Posted by NCBLUE on 01-15-2010 03:17 AM:

just got to make sure the pointer is a mounted pointer but that could be a cool cross!

Posted by wvhoundsman on 01-15-2010 03:51 AM:

shitzu and bluetick then u would have a line of blue sh*t or red bone and shitzu and a line of red sh*t. shitzu and walker a line sh*twalkers. shitzu and leopard hounds a line of leopard sh*t. not showing favortism just saying that anyone making a cross with shitzus will get sh*T

Posted by john nannemann on 01-15-2010 05:24 AM:

i'd make one with lassie, and another with flipper, and a third with mr. ed. then maybe one of them would be able to tell me why they missed the coon.

Posted by englishman78 on 01-15-2010 05:29 AM:

I would have to say that I would breed an English to a walker. That way I might have a good walker by the time I was done.

Out here in the West, crossbreeds outnumber the Reg dogs 5-1. Big game dogs don't need pedigrees, just to catch game.

Most common are Blue/Walker and Walker/Plott.

I myself favor the few Walker/English dogs I've seen.

But, when the day comes that I don't care about having registered dogs anymore. I would own a yard full of Walker/Leopard crosses. Fast, smart, gamey, and NATURAL! Also some of the prettiest dogs I've seen. Blanketback merle coat, white socks, chest, blaze, long hound ears, and tight little feet... Hmm - too bad I own Walkers LOL!

Like you say though, you favor the English/walker cross, lol. I bet Breeding any good hound with a good leopard or mountain cur would be a good cross though.
