Just plain stupid IMO.

If they were gonna do that they should have just not played the game and forfitted, they did that anyway.

All the players looked pissed, heck they wanna win. It always sucks to lose but to just plain give a game away, just awful.

It took Caldwell 14 games to earn some respect as a rookie coach and 1 quarter to become the most hated coach in Indy history. Undefeated was a given and Caldwells panzy butt gave that away. BAD move as a rookie coach. Replace him....

not a colts fan here but i think they are thinking big picture, im not a fan of this at all, just goes to show you the new football players are nothing like the old football players

I am disappointed in the decision they made. If they were getting beat before the switch of the players I could understand, but to have the lead and put the game in the hands of a rookie I don't agree with. My wife and I went to school with Curtis Painter, and he is a pretty decent QB, but I don't think they chose the right time for him to play. Maniac they had better win the super bowl or this would have been for nothing. Hopefully they get the opportunity to stomp the Jets in the playoffs.

Big picture was NFL immortality. You have to think hard to remember who won the superbowl in 99, but everyone knows the team with the perfect season

Yep, not only that but this can hurt the morale of the team (they all looked pissed and athletes want to WIN).

The fans there also paid to see their team play. They paid to see the team try to win. That didn't happen. Is the organization gonna refund their money?

remember what happened a few years back when indy started resting starters with like 3 games left? it made for a real short playoff apperance

colts

You also got to realize that some of those other players need some play time also . They should have used them more this season with some of their easier wins. Those guys need some experience before playoffs and superbowl !!!

They just got cheated out of their place in history, the players that is....An undefeated season or a fair chance at 1 would of been their possible destiny.......now their just an 14 an 1 team....
Nobodies cheering except the Dolphins that went undefeated.
You could see it in Manning`s face.

they had a shot at imortality but the coach gave up what a wimp! hope they dont win another game would serve them right. that is my opinion.

They do it every year. This isn't the first time they've given away a perfect season.

They should have played for the undefeated season that would have been great. I am not a colts fan and they helped the jets out. I am a steelers fan and the way they played this year the surely do not deserve a shot at any playoff spot. My money is on Sandiego.

I personally thought that was an ignorant decision made by the coaching staff why not let Peyton and the guys get there self a comfortable lead and then put the 2nd string in the 4th quarter, By the look on the players faces that tells it all, they really wanted a Undefeated season, I JUST HOPE that it doesnt Destroy the Motivation, from here on out. I FEEL sorry for Painter for a guy that NEVER gets playing time and then Step in the place of PEYTON MANNING at Home In front of a PACKED crowed and everyone expecting a MIRACLE, THAT WOULD BE TOUGH

GO COLTS I STILL LOVE YOU LOL

Posted by Buckshot on 12-28-2009 03:03 AM:

Hobo is right, Dungy made that decision the years they reached deep in the season still undefeated.

I would have liked to have see them hit the 16-0 mark.

But 18-1 is what the end results I'd like to see.............NE's 16-0 mark is long forgotten as they loss the 19th game.

The 19th game is what matters.

You can not get any momentum going into the playoffs like this.
Theyve done it before and it bit them in the buttt and Im gonna say it will bite them again. They will be lucky to win one game in the playoffs.

Posted by jking on 12-28-2009 04:12 AM:

I just hope that they can win the big one. A perfect season would be nice, but anything is better than the position the team was in 13 years ago, I believe it was 1-15. Ah the Harbaugh days. I still believe the Dolphins are the only team with a perfect season. The Colts may not have gone 16-0 like the Pats, but they did manage to go 14-1 so far without cheating, unlike the Pats. As far as momentum, I hope they can keep it going.

Very disappointed

What a waste of a season.

Posted by plottpower on 12-28-2009 01:46 PM:

Im very disappointed, Payton said exactly what I expected him to say in his interview, Jeff Saturday gave the best interview yet he was pissed and let it be known, we discussed it last night and we were wondering if it was really the coach that made the call or someone above him. Not saying they cant be beat but ive yet to see a team that can beat them, the Vikings vs Colts would be a hell of Super Bowl, benching the starters hasnt worked in the past hope they prove me wrong this year.

If your the Jets, how do you feel this morning, you didnt beat the Colts, they let you win, and if you do make it to the playoffs you should know you have no chance of making to the Super Bowl

COLTS

WHAT A SHAME ON WHO EVER MADE THE DECISION. AND AS FAR AS THE JETS.THAT IS ONLY 1 OF 2 WINS THEY NEEDED FOR THE PLAYOFFS.THEY HAVE CINCY THIS WEEK AND UNLESS CINCY SITS THERE STARTERS THERE IS A REAL GOOD CHANCE THERE PLAYOFF HOPES ARE OVER ANYWAY.
