World Coonhound Championships Zone 1

For those of you hunting in Zone1 of the World Coonhound Championships, hosted by the Shellrock Coonhunters the event is at the Big Four Fairgrounds in Nashua, Iowa were it was last year. Location is 10 miles south of Charles City on highway 218 or 17 miles north of Waverly on highway 218, turn into Nashua on highway 346 go threw town across the bridge and go 3 more blocks, fairgrounds on the north side of the road.

Funny! I think your dog knows the river well enough you best just make sure you have someone had the Plainfield bridge to catch her.

Well have judges posted at the Plainfeild bridge first one there will be World Coonhound Swim Champion. Its only a 7 mile swim.

What happened to Kevin, did you fire him or did he quit after you gave him a huge bonus for finishing sassy? Are you sure you don't want to see if you can fill your froglegs up again? lol If you need another pair of froglegs after they get filled up, just stop by and get a pair from dad. He will have some boots there.

kevins got a little snuggles on the way,,due around the 20th i think,,,he will be busy changing diapers,,,the way it sounds it is a snuggles jr.

I was up there years ago well at Waverly and hunted 1 ditch for the whole two hours. In that two hours we scored on 11 coon (4 dog cast) and seen another 20 at least sitting up. Unreal place to hunt. I cant remember who was the guide but I think I remember him saying it was the same ditch Bellar's Harry dog scored 1500 or 1600 on and I can see why!!!!!!! Was a great hunt, great group of guys up there.

Mitch and I just got back from hunting. Seen 5 sitting up in 4 different trees within 200 yards of each other. There were 4 patches of corn pulled to the ground about 20 yard circles. If you get a guide up here and they put around corn you will be fine. Coon are lousy in the corn right now. Should be a lot better hunting this year too. Most of us guide river bottoms and the flood was so bad in the spring of last year that everybody had to replant the corn into beans around the river. So this year most everyone put corn in. Hope to put on a good hunt again this year

Dan the river thing isn't so bad couple years back my dog swam the fricken lake and mitch and them had to get boat to go get him out on the island lol. Hey mitch said he had the coon though lol. Mitch if you guys need a extra judge i'll be up saturday for sure.

Anyone looking to run a dog a night or two before send me a message I live about 15 miles away and have a section on creek bottom with about 150 acers of timber to hunt. corn feilds all around. anyone intrested let me know!!!!!

Dave, I know what the water is like up there. This summer was the only hunt I've ever been at and got water over the top of TWO pair of froglegs. This dry weather should help with the water going down. Take care, Ron.

lol Just trying to help someone out if they need a place to get a dog ready to go. so offer is still up anyone needing a night before quick run let me know. I might head over to the hunt friday night but sat night World of Outlaw sprint cars are running up north!!!!!!!
