Kokomo Indiana/new clubhouse

The concrete work is finished and frameing will begin friday.
This will be a 5000 sf coonhunters clubhouse like no other in the country. It will be a must see, and I predict will be booked full for weddings and social events of all kinds on weekends when no hunts are scheduled.

Any individuals in the area willing to lend a few hrs of skill and labor to help with the progress of this project should pm me for a number to call for info. Any and all help is apreciated.
A couple men from the Hamilton club helped with the concrete. Mackie Manns jr, Tom Miller, Steve Burkholder, Thankyou so much.

If you want to stop by and see the project, turn east at the stoplight at Gallahans Truck Stop on US31 in Peru IN just north of US24/31 jctn. Go east aprox 1/4 mile, when the road curves to the right, the club is on the right.

Marvin, Mr. Bellar was describing that to me the other day. That should be a dandy place for anyone to gather at. Could you please give me a call in the morning. I want to discuss that off colored dog you are hunting. I am trying to make arrangements to get down there in the next week or two for a hunt with you and Brian.

Maybe post some pictures as this thing progresses. Sounds like a great project. I plan to be in IN at the end of May and the location is not terribly far off my route. I'd like to drop by and see it. ND CHA members are building a new clubhouse in the Sheyenne Valley this summer and a look at your project would be inspiring. Thanks for the notice.

I drove by the new club house site on Saturday. Boy they are really coming along! It was framed up and had the roof on. If I had my camera with me I would have taken a photo to post. It looks like it is going to be a very, very nice club house with a great location. Let us know what we can do to help and when. I'll do what I can.

Wow. I can only imagine what the future might hold for events at that facility. Kudos to all those behind the project! Nice, very nice. Wonder if my boss would let me out a day or two to go swing a hammer? Be a nice change of pace and cool to be a part of.

WOW! Great job!

Posted by elvis on 05-12-2009 05:27 PM:

The inside will be a must see. All drywalled with knotty pine trim will really set off the cathedral ceiling, a large kitchen area, handicap restrooms, showers, a nice sized room above the kitchen area, lots of storage rooms, heating and ac is all tucked away above the restrooms, built in intercom system.
Outside it will have parking on club grounds for 100 vehicles. A whole lot of shade and very easy access from all 4 directions.
Oh yea, its also right in the middle of some of the best coonhunting in the world.

Great Looking Club House

That is the best I have ever seen. Nice jobs folks and good luck with everything in the future. Sure folks will love hunting the World Hunt out of that place.

Im not sure what the going rate is to rent a building like this for a wedding reception or a company christmas party, but with the location and all, the possibilitys are endless. I would say this building could pay for itself in a few short years and never have to make a dime on coon hunts. The nite hunt possibiltys are endless too. Im excited about it and Im not even a member.
I was told they were thinking they may need to raise their annual 5 dollar membership fee. lol

"Urban Sprawl".

Basically, the existing club had a location with just a few acres on the outskirts of town...well, that was several years ago. Since then several million dollar homes were built surrounding the clubhouse because of it's location. Soon, the tax rate went up, and the building was becoming more of a burden, along with the taxes. Club members worked hard all year just to pay the taxes!

Well, thanks to some....a plan was hatched to sell the old building, along with the acreage and "relocate". It's been about three years in the making...but it looks like it's becoming a reality. They sold the old building, used the proceeds to buy the land and build a new building.

Renting this building will pay for the new "lower" tax rate....

Taxes, insurance, heating and air plus upkeep will take lots of the income.

We have a nice 4-H building that is rented for community events. We should charge a little more but $75 to $100 per day will limit some groups. This project is really nice.

they must have got a pretty penny for the old place. or someone is pitching in a little more than originally anticipated. great looking building. i am thinking walker youth hunt. isn't there a hunting lodge across the field from this where the kids could hang out as well?
