The zone hunts are Sept 18-19. The finals are Sept 24-26
You can find locations on UKC's website coonhound page under older news or the March issue of Coonhound Bloodlines

The coon population is pretty good in this area . The last hunts we held at the Hawkins County Coon Club were in Feb and April and every cast but 1 saw coons. I was entered in a hunt last Saturday night and we saw 4 coons. The terrain most all guides use range from creek bottoms to rolling ridges. I'm not going to tell you there is not some steep places, but most of the guides we will use will try to do everything possible to keep the dogs out of the rough stuff. But everyone knows when you cut them loose you never know where you will wind up. I hope you can make it I don't think you will be disappointed.

Ron,
Sounds like lots of fun to me. Thanx for the 411. Hope to make it their too, I want to draw a certain handler/owner agian this year. We have 2 RQE's here at the end of the month so we will see.

so when you geta cast win at an rqe hunt then you go to the zone hunts and if you get a cast win there you qualify or what how does it all work

.......the ZONES-double cast winners place first, then single cast winners with enough points to place.................just because you win your cast with plus points doesn't garuntee you'll go to the finals............the # of dogs that go on to the finals from each Zone is dependant on how many are entered at that particular zone................hope this helps...........

A cast win at the RQE dosen't guarntee you qualify. The top 10 cast winners advance to the zones so if there are more than 10 cast winners with plus points someone isn't going to make it and will have to try another RQE.

I talked with Mike Bryant yesturday and every cast saw coons and 20 out of 21 cast had plus points. See you in Rogersville at the RQE on June 20.
