There's a post on coonhoundcentral that says Thunder aint out of Boone but instead Tom Horn ...and maybe a few of Thunder and Fiddlers' pups got mixed up when sold ...what's the scoop Booners ?

Mr. Lewis,
Can you tell me how they know that Thunder is not out of Boone. In the CB article Thunders owner stated that Boone was not a SS Sire because he was never DNA'd. Did the owner of Boone have the semen tested? Thanks for the info.

i don,t know the details but i do know that thunder is not out of boone and that a pup in oklahoma and one up north registered out of thunder are actually out of fidler i should think that any of boones semen should be checked for its acuracy also i think you will probably see good old ukc politics in action

Now I don't see Tom Horn's name mentioned anywhere in those post.So seems to me you know more than your saying.

Why is Skinner not using Mike Dohoney's name ? He knows who the "owner" of Boone and Thunder is .... if this is true there aint no getting out from under it . It also sounds like Darrell aint been handling his paperwork ..we bought three Thunder pups about three months ago or longer and still don't have their papers from Darryl ..it took a good six months to get the last set of papers from him.

Dirtdevil, smoke a doobie and chill. I take by Mr. Lewis post that he may not know who Mike Dohoney is or that he owns the Boone semen. The only thing I ask if he knew if the Boone semen had been dna'd I never doubted that someone determined that Thunder was'nt outta Boone. I want to know how can a dog be determined to not be one dogs sire unless the sire has been dna'd. Call Mike. He has nothing to hide and is'nt trying to get out from under anything. As far as Darryll goes I have never met the man but I'd be calling about my papers. I too am curious about Tom Horn I don't see his name mentioned anywhere. Shoot seems you know more than us. Come on don't hold back give us the skinny.

I had to edit my post one of the phrases did'nt come out right.

Josh here is the answer to your question.

If you intend to use frozen semen, check the date the semen was collected and frozen. IF THE SEMEN WAS COLLECTED AND FROZEN AFTER JANUARY 1, 1997, THE SIRE MUST BE DNA PROFILED THROUGH U.K.C. OR THE LITTER CANNOT BE REGISTERED.

i can assure you that i know for sure that thunder is not out of old boone the puzzling thing to me is that some time back when i wanted to breed to tom horn mike said he was sterile i personally breed a female of mine twice to thunder and got no pups my hunting partner bred two females to thunder with no pups his brother then took his female to thunder again no pups this has been within the last two years since then all three females were bred to different studs and all produced big litters a friend of one of the men mentioned purchased a male pup out of thunder that is now one year old which means it was concieved the same time the three females were bred so he had the pup dna,d only to find that it was out of fidler

well I don't know personaly so I should probably stay out of this but, I own a 2 year old female that is the best comp dog I have ever seen(bar none) and she is a grand pup of tom horns and I would be more excited about breeding her to thunder if he were out of horn.

the fact remains you should be able to believe in your registry thats what papers are for tom horn may have been the greatest stud ever so why the mix up and not one but many ??????

Boone Docker Mike's # is 812-472-3563. If your friends pup is not out of Thunder but Fiddler instead, I would think your friend would turn all that over to the right folks at ukc. John Wick said he believes that in five generations, the paperwork could be off as much as 40%. Dang at the things dna is going to straighten out.

Hey Hobo remember at the hunt when the lady had the two black poodles with red bows in there hair....

This Mess Is Nothing New

I for one would love to see UKC make it a rule that anyone in the dog breeding business that all dogs used in a breeding program must be profiled through DNA or even to be registered by UKC this would become a requirement. We all have dogs today including all breeds that we have no idea what they are from ........The time is now to clear this whole mess up of this coondog breeding...........

Anytime you see a big change

from one litter to the next from a stud dog makes you wonder what secret incredient was used to make that change. It wasn't there before now all at once better dogs are coming froim a stud dog that was just barely making a good yard dog before. It goes on guys we do not know for sure what we are getting. The time is now to change all this UKC has made it available to us so called back yard breeders as well as you well know money making breeders with the DNA honesty could be put back into all breeding programs, and take out the guessing as to what a dog is from.

Hell no nothing was said about Mike what so ever .........Now .....Hobo......... Why would you think such a thing I said nothing about Mike, and mentioned no other names........However if you think, he did that is your right....... do not try to add a meaning into my post that is not there.....I meant all of us as dog lovers what ever the breed needs to know for sure what we are getting. Nothing was said about Mike, and will not be said here I know nothing of Mike, and was only commenting on the DNA issue........
