Walker Days

Is anyone going to Walker Days this yr.? Do you think the numbers will be down due to gas prices? Don't forget this is the 50th yr. of Walker Days and believe they are planning on giving away somewhere between $10,000 and $12,000 this yr. Should be a good time.

i'm going down with two dogs.. i sent my entry in last week. i thought i would end up on the waite list, but i wasn't...... i'm sure the gas prices are keeping a few home.

I am coming on down, but not to hunt. I have an arranged date for my female. I probably will check out the dog barns and suppliers, and maybe just maybe bs a little bit.

i know i'm old, but i'm sure i was on a waite list last yr.. i was like 25 and 26 on the waite list.. ya they have been able to put everyone in the woods for quite a few yrs..

all of the people that said they were coming were within a few states of where the event will be.

how many from farther south, west, east will NOT be coming because of gas that has gone in years past???

I'm coming its been about six years since I've been able to make it.Just mapquest'd it and its 2153 miles one way.At 14 miles per gallon thats gonna be.... OUCH!!!!!!!But I'll be there and it'll be fun enough to help ease some of the wallet pain LOL

Talked with the Vice Pres today. Believe he said about 240 dogs per night so far. Last year was about 200 per night.

Thats still alot of dogs when you look at how all the local hunts seem to be down in numbers. Just goes to show we all like to win or hunt, maybe I should say. Goodluck to all that show up in Portland in a couple weeks.

Glad to see your coming down. You might want to check my post out on the Walker classifieds. I'll have a litter of pups out of my female there. Shes out of Skuna River Fred and Hardwood Swamp. The pups are going to be sold at Auction on Sat. You may get a real bargin and it will be ready for next yrs. hunt. Really nice pups. Take a look.

I think last year it was beetween 10 and 11 o'clock but don't hold me to it. All depending on how many dogs and the Judge. Just hoping for some nice weather.
