#5 Budweiser Chevrolet

All signs point to us seeing a #5 BUDWEISER Chevrolet on the track next season. Looks like Dale Jr is headed to Hendrick Motorsports with Kyle Busch getting released from his contract. Only a rumor for now, we will find out for sure tommorow.......

preference would have been rcr but im happy as long as he can get a championship blue DEI away and then go back and buy it for pennies on the dollar. and i was a big sr. fan.

That is going to be awesome! Gordon, Johnson & Jr... money in the bank for Hendrick.

Posted by coondogless on 06-13-2007 03:34 AM:

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. If Jr. does go to Hendrick, he will not be able to say he does not have the equipment anymore.

budweiser would be stupid not going with jr. when you think of dale jr you think of budweiser. just because it's on the car don't mean it's in the car.

Latest story is that Mears moves to the #5 car and JR drives the #25. Other teams may need Bud to go, I doubt Hendrick does. No shortage of sponsors for them. It all comes out tommorow at 10 AM Central.

No matter where Dale goes his loyal fans will follow. If he goes to Hendricks so be it! They have done there home work and they are winning. Junior is a winner too. He just needs to get his head screwed back on straight and in a better inviroment.
Not his papa, but he can still drive a race car!

that's if he went with JGR ol'e joe don't want any beer sponsers, heard that if he went with gibbs it would be visa or wal-mart. but i think that bud will stay with JR. what will suprise everybody is that he announces that he will field a team out of JR motersports, next year with hendreick's motor and chassie, since bush is pulling out of the bush series at the end of the year, more money for anheuser-bush to spend on JR motor sport start up team, can't wait to hear the press confferance in the morning.

Yeah, Can't wait for the press conference. I figured RCR was out when they announced they would supply DEI with engines. Looks like Joe Gibbs is out because they may switch to Toyota for next year(contract runs out with GM). I would not be surprised if JR Motorsports teams with Hendrick. Could be JR driving for Hendrick and Hendrick supply the engines for a "starter" team at JR Motorsports.....possibly with Truex as driver? Who knows? Exciting either way.

Posted by elvis on 06-13-2007 07:58 PM:

No more excuses JR fans. Now we will see if he can drive a car.
Hendricks will do everything they can to get him a championship.

Posted by P.W. Chapman on 06-13-2007 08:10 PM:

Exactly,

No more excuses. Jr better be able to deliver better than he has.

Like Dizzy Dean said about baseball players with fat contracts, "They ain't hungry with a ham on their shoulder." Jr hasn't shown that real hungry streak yet, now that he knows he won't have any excuses or anybody to blame but himself he might step it up (if he is a fraction of the competitor that his old man was).

I guess if you cant beat em join em. Hes got to get in the winner's circle somehow.

Kinda like a bluetick man buying himself a Walker. God knows thats happened a few times.

Well, its time to dust off the Dupont Racing stuff. I was a huge Gordon fan for years until JR came along. I think it is awesome.

I once tried a Walker, but I enjoy Coon hunting not tree hunting.........

LOL i love it... this conversation would only be better sitting out listening to the hounds tree while frying up a bunch of fish..

i was a BIG #3 fan and when he was gone i had to move over to the #8.. never was much of a gordon fan but just like dale sr. always said "da boy can flat drive"... maybe now gordon will teach dale jr. one thing he should have learned from his dad.. the bump and run... sr. was the very best but gordon is not real bad himself... just ask rusty wallace..

jr wins

if jr wins does that mean he is a great driver or has the best equipment after he moves to hendrick?

Posted by BRYAN J on 06-14-2007 12:50 AM:

A great driver can't win if they don't set the car up correctly or have the muscle. But the driver has to help with the correct decisions. Best driver in the world has to have the machine and knowledge along with a excellent pit crew. All has to come together.
