none of these dogs

are PROVEN reproducers yet

I am keeping my eye on Wipe Out Willie and Swift Creek Max. I have heard good things about Max pups. The common denominator between these two dogs is the Bones dog. I have heard he threw good dogs.

As far as the dogs listed, several are all pretty close. I know about one of them and while he is a coon dog he isn't my type. If hard pressed about one, I would probably check out Cutter.

Are any of Bad Habit's pups old enough to tell anything yet?

Posted by Tank/UKC on 01-07-2004 05:15 PM:

IF your female can add it some size

My bet is going to be with Hardwood Elvis Attack.

If Cutter stays in North Carolina he will not breed enough females to show any impact.

Harry Jr is bouncing around too much

If Dickerson/Meyer keep Jet he will out reproduce his brothers.

Gr Nite Ch Hilltop's Hardwood Smoke "Blackie"

This young hound is not yet 3 and only has one litter on the ground and one on the way. The first litter were naturals, I have tried to get several back and not been able to buy them. I hunted with one in Ohio and he was as tough a puppy as there is. I tried to buy and the guy just laughed. He will be advertised in March, and is a SS and Perfromance Sire. Look for big things out of Blackie pups, they are natural born tree dogs (like his father's pup Rat Attack).

Gr Nite Ch Hilltop's Nocturnal Danger

He is reproducing like his father did Gr Nite Ch Huff's Nocturnal Ranger. I may be a little biast but these dogs have earned a lot of respect locally and I think they need a little national attention.

WHAT ABOUT

WILD CARD, BAD HABIT, SUNRISE ???

Posted by Oak Ridge on 01-07-2004 07:39 PM:

I don't think any of these choices are proven, but I am hoping that Wild Card is the next greatest stud.....I bred my Whitey Daughter to him last evening.

Not to knock the dog but, the wild card pup I've got out of an all grand female is almost ugly. She is short legged, barrell bodied. She also has a sorry mouth. I'm sure not all of them will be like this one but, she has ruined him for me.

Of course they aren't proven. The question asked what's the best young stud dog. I may be wrong, but I also interpreted to mean a good stud dog. THat doesn't necessarily mean the most popular.LOL

I have a 22 month old GRNTCH that is out of Rat and GRNT Dixie, the same cross as the cutter dog and he is for real. I advertuised him in the October Cooner and have gotten alot of response to the ad. He is bred as good as any stud out there today.

Posted by josh wiggins on 01-07-2004 10:08 PM:

what is his name bmason

Posted by Driveshaft on 01-08-2004 12:44 AM:

BMASON

WITH A DOG BRED LIKE THAT I SAY HE PROBABLY WILL REPRODUCE

Posted by Ray Stein on 01-08-2004 03:24 AM:

Wipeout Willy, Koy, Moose, Zeb Again, these wipeout dogs are hot and good reproducers, as well as some of the Rat attack sons, just picked up a nice pup for a young man by me out of Nite Heat Rusty, wow what a litter, and Steve Smith is SS their young stud he a full bro to Rat. Also don't over look the Stylish Chaos dog out in Missouri owned by Joe Lee.

Shawn,

You have me scared now. I have drawn card several times, and he is the right kind, and I have seen some of his pups....I have not noticed what you mentioned.

I guess we will find out. If they are pretty, you wanna try another one?

if a guy can find a good reproduceing female, she will make any of these stud dogs look good.
good females have made many common males famous.

Posted by Oak Ridge on 01-09-2004 12:40 PM:

Amen to that.....

Oak Ridge, I don't care about pretty, but decent would be nice, and a good mouth. I can't go chop mouth track dogs too much. The pup is showing some interest and is doing fine. She's just not to my liking in some of the traits she has. I know that if you see several pups out of a stud, they will all be different. I like Cards breeding, I just don't like the one pup I've seen.

Shawn

I noticed you had some pups from Cade awhile back, have you hunted with Cade before? What type of mouth did he have and what were your likes/dislikes about him?

Posted by Shawn Gillespie on 01-09-2004 03:12 PM:

I've got two pups from Cade and a Rat Female and her momma was a sister to Rank. They are good looking, good made pups. I raised another litter out of a grnt female that was by Sackett jr. and her momma was a sister to Rank. These were super good looking pups as well. I have another gyp bred to him currently. These pups will be due Feb.10.

I have hunted 4 times with Cade. I drew him 3 times in hunts and went up and pleasure hunted with him once. He is a super good looking dog, hunts hard, has a very good bawl mouth on track, and chop on tree. He has a very good nose, moves his tracks well, and will stay put when treed.
